Zhou Yuan Shuai (周元帥) aka Zhou Tian Jun (周天君) or Marshal Zhou, one of the 36 Heavenly Generals (三十六天將) & part of the Thunder Deities of the Celestial Thunderial Department (雷部) that assisted Xuan Tian Shang Di (玄天上帝) in assisting the subduing of demons & warding-off of negative entities.
Zhou Yuan Shuai, actual name known as Zhou Guang Ze (周廣澤) or Zhou Wu (周武), born in Zhou Dynasty (生于周朝) and some recorded as Pre-Tang Dynasty (又說生于隋朝), hometown unknown (家鄉不詳).
According to the Taoist Deity System Records, Zhou Guang Ze was actually a Manifestation of the Thunder Element. After Heavenly Lord Pu Hua released a Sound of Thunder into the Mortal Realm, Zhou Guang Ze was being manifested.
Upon the Manifestation, Zhou Guang Ze was being appointed to reborn into the Zhou Family as the Youngest Son of Old Master Zhou, a Honourable & Compassionate Elder.
At a young age, Zhou Guang Ze was able to make accurate Prediction on Negative Issues that happening in no time and this was how, Zhou Guang Ze got Well-known by his Village-mates.
By the age of 20, Zhou Guang Ze was able to summon Spiritual Energies from the Three Realms even though he was not being trained by any Masters or Priests. Due to his Supernature Spiritual Power, Zhou Guang Ze was being targeted by the Demons & Devils that stayed in a Mountain near his Home-village.
One Year, while Zhou Guang Ze was on his way to Dou Ge Mountain (斗隔山), a group of Demons approached him. Upon approaching, one of the Demons stand out and wanted to challenge with him on Spiritual Power. In-order to Eliminate these Demons, Zhou Guang Ze had to accept the Challenge and within moments, the Battle started.
Due to Zhou Guang Ze was being bestowed with Natural Spiritual Power, with just a form of Simple Visualization, he summoned some of the Thunderial Department's Thunder Marshals to Dou Ge Mountain to release the Eliminating Thunder. Within moment, the 1st Demon was being captured and beheaded. Seeing that the Leader was being killed, the other Demons started to become vicious and rebellious, they started to release theie Evil Energies.
Without noticing that one of the Demons was standing behind him, Zhou Guang Ze was being affected by the Evil Energies and immediately, Zhou Guang Ze got poison and his face changed to Green (Blue) color and Hair turned to Red. His face expression transformed into a Demonic-look. Upon knowing that his Appearance had changed, Zhou Guang Ze was totally upset and dashed his way into the deserted part of the Dou Ge Mountain.
Knowing that Zhou Guang Ze had vanished from the Battling, the other Thunderial Marshals had to eliminate the Demons on behalf of him and upon clearing the Demons, the Marshals returned back to the Celestial Palace to make their report.
After years of hiding, Zhou Guang Ze had reached a High Level of Spiritual Cultivation.
One year, while he was performing his Summoning of Thunder Marshals, a Dark & Positive Cloud appeared on top of Dou Ge Mountain. Zhou Guang Ze was shocked at first but after close observation being made, he saw a familiar form. Soon, the Cloud descended in front of him and immediately after the Cloud descended, he saw that on top of the Cloud was Xuan Tian Shang Di (玄天上帝), without any further hesitation, Zhou Guang Ze made his respect by making kowtows to Xuan Tian Shang Di.
Upon knowing Zhou Guang Ze had accomplished his Task, Xuan Tian Shang Di came to the Mortal Realm to bring him back to the Heavenly Realm for reporting.
Soon, Zhou Guang Ze was being brought to the Celestial Palace (天庭) and after meeting up with Jade Emperor of Heaven (玉皇大天尊), Zhou Guang Ze was being bestowed with the title Bei Fang Feng Lei Dang Gui Zhou Yuan Shuai (北方风雷荡鬼周元帅) and Xuan Tian Shang Di hand-over a Black Seven Stars Flag (七星皂旗) to him as a form of Authority & Recognition for Eliminating Demons & Evil Spirits.
Due to his Demonic Outlook that caused by the Evil Energies released during the Battling, till today, in some Temples, the Statue dedicated to Zhou Guang Ze come in Green Face, Red Hair & Poppy Eyes form. Hands holding on to a Melon-form Weapon or Sabre and a Seven Stars Flag.

In Taoism & other Chinese Religions, Paper Offering is one of the many types of Offerings that Chinese needed to prepare before any form of Honouring.
In here, I will like to share with ALL of you on a Type of Paper that being used to Get-rid & Eliminating Negative Energies or Entities.
This Type of Paper is known as Wu Gui Zhi (五鬼紙) aka The Five Ghostly Spirits Paper.
Due to misconception & misunderstanding, this Type of Paper is being Wrongly use in nowadays, Folks thought that by Burning this Type of Paper, Oneself will be able to gain Wealth Blessing, but actually is not.
So what is the Main Purpose of using this Type of Paper?
According to Records, this Type of Paper got a few Usages:
1) Sending-off Poverty & Stupidest (送窮及送笨)
2) Sending-off Backstabbers (驅趕小人)
3) Sending-off the Five Ghostly Spirits & other Negative Entities (送五鬼)
For First Point, in the Ancient Era, Folks tend to believe that Oneself becoming Poor & Stupid were due to the harassment or pestering by the Negative Entities or other Wandering Souls. In-order to Send-off or Get-rid of such Spirits, Oneself would needed to get hold of this Type of Paper and then, performed a Short Report to the Deities & Earth Deity and then Burn-off the Paper allowing the Deities to provide the Necessary Blessing for Getting-rid of the Spirits. Once the Spirits were being sent off, Oneself would be able to Gain the Wisdom & Wealth Blessing from Deities.
For Second Point, during the Honouring of Tiger Deity during Spring Season (驚螫日), this Paper will be needed. After Honouring the Tiger Deity, this Paper will be used to Wrap-up the Paper Figurine that represent Backstabbers. After then, the Wrap-up Package must be Burnt off. This is to represent that the Backstabbers are being Eliminated and Good Luck will followed.
For Third Point, to Send-off the Five Ghostly Spirits aka Wu Xiao Gui (五小鬼). Cos in Taoism, Wu Gui represent Trouble & Nuisances. Once Oneself started to feel Bad & Luck is Down, meaning that Oneself might somehow annoyed or disturbed the Wu Gui and so, Oneself will need to Send them Off as soon as Possible in-order to prevent More Un-necessary Issues to happen. And so, Oneself will prepare this Paper and some other Paper-offering and then, proceed to Outdoor Area to burn them off. By doing so, the Wu Gui will be Send off and Good Luck will be Blessed upon Oneself by the Deities.
So it is Good to Burn this Type of Paper whenever Oneself wants to Burn?
Due to misconception & misunderstanding, nowadays, Folks tend to Burn this Paper in Large amount, hoping that the Five Ghostly Spirits will be there to provide Wealth Blessing, which this is a Wrong-doing.
By Burning Large amount of this Paper, Oneself does not gain the necessary Blessing instead, will lead in other Issues. So to prevent any Un-necessary Issues to happen, Oneself shall prevent burning this Paper without any form of Guidance.
In Taoism & other Chinese Religions, Paper Offering is one of the many types of Offerings that Chinese needed to prepare before honouring Deities & Ancestors.
Due to lack of Information and Passing-down on the Actual Usage & Knowledge on the various Paper Offerings, some of the Paper Offerings have been mis-used or being omitted by the Chinese as Time pass-by.
In here, I will like to do a brief intro on 1 type of Old and Rarely seen Paper Offering that Taoist or Chinese used while paying respect to Lord Bei Dou aka Bei Dou Xing Jun (北斗星君) - known as Qi Xing Zhi/Fu aka Seven Stars Paper (七星紙/符).
According to the Records on Paper Offerings, this Seven Stars Paper was being created in Late Ming Dynasty (明朝末年) or Early Qing Dynasty (清朝). This invention was to allow the Taoist or Chinese to honour the Lord Bei Dou and also, to get connected with the Lord Bei Dou in-order to get the Blessing on the Pro-longing of One's Age during this Physical Mortal Life.
Besides that, Taoist & Chinese also believed that, by Offering this Seven Stars Paper to Lord Bei Dou, Ones's Sins & Debts will be Eliminated or Cleared before & after Oneself Pass-on (death).
With the Blessing of the Lord Bei Dou, Oneself will be Blessed with Good Lucks and also, getting the Spiritual Assistances from the Deities of Prosperity & Fortune.
So how to Offer such Papers?
First, by just doing Burning on the 1st & 15th Day of the Lunar Month after honouring the Deities
Second, by doing Burning after Taoist Priests conducted the Honouring of Lord Bei Dou Ritual/Ceremony, in Chinese known as Li Dou (禮斗) or Bai Dou (拜斗)
Third, by doing Burning on every 7th Day of Lunar Month, cos in Taoism, Taoists believed that on every 7th Day of the Lunar Month, Lord Bei Dou will descend into this Mortal Realm to do Inspection on the Mortals on their Good & Bad doings.
So how many Pieces or Stacks to be Offered?
Usually One Piece to Seven Pieces will be used.
Any other Items needed to add to the Paper Offerings in-order to get the Best Effect?
Not necessary, but if Oneself is able to do Chanting on the Bei Dou Scripture (北斗真經) or Bei Dou Bao Gao (北斗寶誥) before the Burning-off of the Paper, that will be the Best.
So can we get such Papers in the Market now?
I can say its quite Impossible as not much People really know of how to use it nowadays.
Usually when People doing their honouring of Deities, they will just Offered the Normal Paper Offerings such as Shou Jin (壽金) or Gui Ren Paper (貴人紙), other than that, People will just regards them as Troublesome and Not-necessary.
