本門將於甲午馬年正月廿四日午時舉行” 張祖天師發米紀念日朝禮歷代天師”儀式。

在朝禮歷代天師之後﹐所有捐贈白米及乾糧善長仁翁之名諱﹐將由小道上稟功德並將化送上蒼﹐祈願該眾善長仁翁能受上天覃恩﹐天師護佑。

當天﹐新加坡童善堂也將舉行該年度”安奉值年太歲星君”儀式﹐有意參與之同道好友可與小道聯繫。

Jave will be conducting the According of Respect to our 64 Generations Heavenly Master Zhang on this coming Sunday, 23 Feb 2014 1100Am, at Singapore Tong Shan Tang located at Lengkok Bahru, dedicating to the Anniversary of Heavenly Master Zhang Dao Ling’s distributing of Charity Rice in Han Dynasty.

On this Day, Tong Shan Tang will also be conducting it’s Annual Honouring of Lord Tai Sui, for those who have yet to Honour Lord Tai Sui for Jia Wu Horse Year, feel free to join in.

Tong Shan Tang Thanksgiving for Ren Chen Year 2013 (童善堂壬辰年臘月答謝神恩)

On the 16th Day of Lunar 12 Month of Xin Mao Year (壬辰龍年臘月十六日尾牙), 27 Jan 2013, Long Shan Men (正一龍山門) was being engaged to conduct a Thanksgiving Ceremony dedicating to the Main Deities of Tong Shan Tang (新加坡童善堂) & Long Shan Wei Ling Fu (正一龍山威靈府) located at Southern Singapore - Redhill.

At about 09.30Am, Jave & Vabien arrived at Tong Shan Tang and most of the Offerings were being prepared by Royce and his Family. Without further delay, the Thanksgiving Ceremony started by conducting the Reporting to the Celestial Realm (開壇上奏) at about 10.00Am.

At 11.00Am, the Ushering in of the Deities from the Three Realms (恭迎三界) was being conducted and most of the Members of Tong Shan Tang were there to participate in the welcoming of the Deities.

Upon completion of the Ushering in of the High Deities, it was time to Welcome the New Heavenly Reporting Officer (九天麒麟天官) for the Year of Gui Si (癸巳年). After the enhancing of the Spiritual Items for the Dotting Ceremony, the new Heavenly Reporting Officer was being Dotted and Enhanced and upon completion on the Dotting, he was being ushered into the Premises and placed onto the Main Altar.

At about 3.00Pm, after the lunch break, the Thanksgiving Ceremony started, by then more Members of Tong Shan Tang had arrived to join in.

At about 5.00Pm, the the Major Rewarding of Spiritual Armies (犒賞三軍) was conducted by Royce.

At about 5.30Pm, the whole Celebration reached the Final part - Sending-off of the Deities (恭送三界) and Rewarding of the Armies with the Paper Offerings.

By 6.30Pm, after a quick packing and cleaning, we sat down to enjoy the Food that being prepared by Royce’s Mother.

In here, Jave will like to take this opportunity to Thank Royce, Royce’s Mother and All Members of Tong Shan Tang for making this Ceremony a Wonderful and Successful one.

Tong Shan Tang Thanksgiving for Ren Chen Year 2013 (新加坡童善堂壬辰年臘月答謝神恩慶典)

Tong Shan Tang 7 Month Salvation Ritual Series 2 2012 Part 4 - The Great Send Off (新加坡童善堂壬辰年薦祖解冤赦罪儀式之渡橋昇天)

The most unbearable & touching moment of the whole 7th Month Celebration for Tong Shan Tang.

After the Distribution Offerings to the Souls Ritual completed, each individual family member was asked to bid farewell to the Ancestors & their Pass-on family members.

Upon completion, the descendants had to carry the Tablets of the Ancestors & Pass-on to cross 3 Bridges before "they" were being led to the "Eastern Palace" thru the "Burning".

While crossing of the Bridges, the family members had to call out the names of the Pass-on, which somehow made the whole atmosphere to be more saddening and touchy.

With 3 rounds of Crossing, the Tablets & Paper Offerings were being carried to the burning cages for sending off.

At the burning area, short reports were being made to the Three Realms and Spiritual Armies were being summoned to guide on the burning ground to prevent any nasty beings from "snatching away" the Offerings.

With the setting of "Fire" to the Paper Offerings, every Soul was being "directed" onto the "Path of Joyous".

Tong Shan Tang 7 Month Salvation Ritual Series 2 2012 Part 3 - Distribution Offerings to Souls (新加坡童善堂壬辰年薦祖解冤赦罪儀式之登臺普施)

On the 23rd Day of Lunar 7th Month (農曆七月廿三日), which was the Finale of the whole 7th Month Salvation Ceremony, Vabien was appointed to be the leading Priest to conduct the Distribution of Offerings to the Souls.

At about 8.00Pm, the Ritual started. With a short report and "Transforming" of the Ritual Ground to become the "Lotus Platform" of Heavenly Lord Tai Yi (太乙救苦天尊), the 3 of us proceed to our seats for the Distribution Ritual.

With the Chanting of Official Taoist Scriptures & the "Transforming into Lord Tai Yi", Vabien enhanced on the various Offerings and then threw out to the open space for the Souls to grab it.

The whole Ritual took about an hour to complete and upon completion of this Ritual, it was time for the descendants to bid farewell to their ancestors.

Tong Shan Tang 7 Month Salvation Ritual Series 2 2012 Part 2 - Summoning of Souls (新加坡童善堂壬辰年薦祖解冤赦罪儀式之九幽引魂科)

With the completion of the preparation, at about 8.00pm, the Ritual officially began.

First, by making a Report to the Three Realms on what occasion and objective of this Ritual, follow-by Cleansing & Enhancing of the various Spiritual Objects that would be used during the Ritual.

At around 9.00pm, the Summoning of Souls Ritual was conducted.

In here, you all will be seeing a series of Pictures of Jave "Opening up" of the "Door" to the other Realm to summon or release out the particular Souls (Ancestors) that were being summoned. This Ritual needed the Energy from the various Lamps that being enhanced to lead the Souls to the Ritual Ground for Salvation.

Besides that, Jave had to draw various type of Talismans on the Ground, in order to "Open up the Mystery Door" to the Realm. In other contexts, this Ritual is known as "Breaking the Hell Gates" but in Official Taoism, this is known as "Brighten the Path of the Souls (開光冥路)".

During this Ritual, a total of Nine Rounds of repeating actions needed to be carried out and after every round, the feeling of the Summoning Banner (召魂幡) would feel different. From there, we were be able to gauge whether the Souls have or not being summoned.

After the Souls were being summoned, the Souls needed to be led to the "Washrooms" to cleanse up "themselves" before being led to pay respect to the High Deities and then back to their "Seats".

Usually after the leading the Souls to their "Seats", the family members would be able to communicate to the Ancestors thru the Priests or the Mediums.

Tong Shan Tang 7 Month Salvation Ritual Series 2 2012 Part 1 - Preparation (新加坡童善堂壬辰年薦祖解冤赦罪儀式之籌備工作)

With 20 Days of preparation & planning, on 06 Sep, the setting-up was carried out by Vabien & Royce.

With the assistance of Vabien's setting & cleansing of the Territory & Royce releasing of Spiritual Armies for the protection, the Invitation of the Deities was able to carry out smoothly.

On 07 Sept, after some final preparation, Jave arrived at the Ritual ground in the evening to do the final touch-up, such as Drawing of the Long Cloth Talisman for the Leading of the Souls out from the other Realm.

And while Jave was busy with the setting-up for the Leading of Souls Ritual, Vabien was there to set-up the "Wash Rooms" for the Souls. Really appreciate the hardwork that Vabien had put in for the planning and decorating of the Toilets.

Tong Shan Tang 7th Month Salvation Ritual 2012 (新加坡童善堂壬辰年中元普渡暨施藥科儀)

Upon receiving the news on the 1st Day of Lunar 7th Month that Tong Shan Tang will be conducting a 7th Month Salvation Ritual (中元普渡) & Distribution of Spiritual Medicine for Healing Ceremony (施藥科儀) on the 2nd Day of Lunar 7th Month (農曆七月初二日), Jave had only got a day’s time to do the necessary preparation. Maybe this is a form of testing for Jave and LSM, and at the end, we made it thru.

On the 2nd Day, we arrived at Tong Shan Tang at about 6.30Pm to do the final preparation before we start the Ritual.

At about 7.15Pm, Jave had initial the Ritual by making a Report to the Three Realms (上奏三界), followed by Cleansing the Surrounding (清壇請聖) for the ushering in of the High Ranking Deities and also, the various Medical Deities from the Heavenly Physician Department known as Tian Yi Fu (天醫府).

Upon completion of the Cleansing & Ushering, the Enhancing of the 12 types of Chinese Herbs was being conducted and also, the starting of the Brewing of the Medicine. While Jave was conducting the Brewing of Medicine, the Medium of General Xie Bi An (謝必安將軍) arrived to do the necessary inspection of the surrounding, preventing any misconduct or disorder that had created by the “Wandering Souls”.

For the distribution of the Spiritual Medicines, various procedure was involved, such as Cleansing of the Brewing Pot, Enhancing of the Bowl & Spoon into “Spiritually”, Issuing of Talismans into the Brew Pot, Enhancing of the various types of Medicines and last, brew the Medicines individually upon getting the approval of the Deities.

While the brewing was on-going, devotees that were found ill or had just gone thru operation were requested to fan the fire on behalf of “Celestial Officers”. This purpose is to allow those ill-devotees to be “cured” by the Heavenly Physicians and also, get the blessing from the sniffing in of the various brewing herbs.

Once the brewing of the Medicine was done, it’s the time for Tong Shan Tang & Jave to go round the neighbourhood to summon the “hidden” Wandering Souls to the Ritual ground for Salvation & enjoying of the feast.

With the leading of General Xie & Jave, we went round Lengkok Bahru one round for the summoning of Souls. Once we arrived back at the Ritual ground, it was the time for Jave to conduct the Distribution of Food Ceremony and also the Salvation Ritual.

Overall, it took about an hour to complete the Ceremony and upon completion, we seek the “approval” of the Souls in order to send them off and with a “Smiling” & “Agreed” signal, we proceed with the Sending off.

With a short procession thru Lengkok Bahru, we arrived at the Burning Area and after a quick Reporting & Chanting, Jave broke the Bowl & Spoon that used for the Distribution of the Spiritual Medicine, this was to prove that ALL Souls that arrived for the Healing were all “Cured”. After then, the burning took place.

General Xie was there to supervise on the “Collection Order” and Jave was there to seek Approval from Heavenly Lord Tai Yi (太乙救苦天尊) to lead the Souls back to the Eastern Palace for Eternal Joysous (往昇東極青華宮).

Upon witnessing the Sending off, we proceed back to the Ritual ground for the Thanking of the Arrival Deities and with a quick chanting, the Sending off of the Deities was conducting.

With that, we ended the day by enjoying the “Leftover” feast.

While we were enjoying the feast, we also sat down to discuss on the upcoming Grand Salvation Ritual that will be taking place in September. For those who are interested to join in for the observation, details will be out soon after everything is being finalized.

Tong Shan Tang Annual Celebration for Year 2012 (新加坡童善堂壬辰年關聖帝君壽辰慶典)

It’s again the 24th Day of Lunar 06 Month of (農曆六月廿四日) for Tong Shan Tang (新加坡童善堂) to conduct their Annual Celebration dedicating to Lord Guan Gong (關聖帝君聖誕).

At about 09.00Am, Jave & Vabien arrived at Tong Shan Tang and most of the Offerings were being prepared by Royce and his Family. Without further delay, the Annual Celebration started by conducting the Reporting to the Celestial Realm (開壇上奏) at about 10.00Am.

At 11.00Am, the Ushering in of the Deities from the Three Realms (恭迎三界) was being conducted and most of the Members of Tong Shan Tang were there to participate in the welcoming of the Deities.

Upon completion of the Ushering in of the High Deities, Dotting Ceremony was conducted dedicated to Marshal Zhong Tan (中壇元帥) & a miniature Statue dedicated to Lord Guan Gong.

At about 2.00Pm, after the lunch break, the Anniversary Respect Ceremony (祝壽科儀) started, by then more Members of Tong Shan Tang had arrived to join in.

After the Anniversary Respect Ceremony, 2 Old Mediums from another Sintua, which was also the Master of Royce’s Mother, had dropped by to pay respect after they had Sent-off the Deities.

At about 3.30Pm, the Sending-off of the Deities (恭送三界) was conducted.

At about 5.30pm, the Rewarding of the Armies was conducted by the Royce conducting the Ritual. During this period, Jave had went off for a last minute Taoist Meeting, so was not able to participate in the Rewarding of the Armies.

By 8.00Pm, after a quick packing and cleaning, we sat down to enjoy the Food that being prepared by Royce’s Mother & Brother.

At about 9.30Pm, the whole of Tong Shan Tang proceed down to the Open-field to conduct the Food-offerings to the Wandering Spirits (小普施儀式).

And the whole Day ended smoothly & happily at about 10.30Pm. With 3 cheers & the consuming of Red-wine, we called it and day and everyone headed home for a good rest.

Tong Shan Tang Lord Lao Zi & Duke Kai Zhang Manifestation Celebration Year 2011 (辛卯年童善堂道德天尊與開漳聖王聖誕吉慶)

On the 19 of March, which was 15th Day of Lunar 2 Month (辛卯年農曆二月十五日), Tong Shan Tang (新加坡童善堂) had conducted the Manifestation Honouring dedicating to Supreme Lord Lao Zi (道德天尊) and Duke Kai Zhang (開漳聖王) aka the Ancestor of the Tan Clan (陳氏先祖).

Despite the busy schedule that Taoist Bro Royce had, he had prepared the necessary Offerings for this Honouring and again, his Effort was much appreciated and accepted by the Deities.

As you all can see in Pic 07 & 09, Taoist Bro Royce had prepared 3 bowls of Cooked Longevity Noodles and 3 Red Eggs (壽麵紅蛋) being placed on top of it, this was a Blessing and also a MUST Offering to prepared for the Tan Clan Ancestors. There is a Hidden Meaning on this Offering – Live Long, Carry-on Eternally and Everything to be Smooth (長壽圓滿傳萬代).

Tong Shan Tang Jing Zhe Day Honouring & Fu De Manifestation Celebration Year 2011(辛卯年童善堂福德正神大伯公壽辰吉慶及驚螫日安奉虎神儀式)

On the 6 of March 2011 (Sunday) aka 2nd Day of Lunar 2 Month (辛卯年農曆二月初二日), Tong Shan Tang (新加坡童善堂) had conducted a Honouring Celebration dedicated to Fu De Zheng Shen (福德正神大伯公) aka Earth Deity and Tiger Deity (虎神).

With a few Days of Preparation, our Taoist Bro Royce had got the necessary Offerings for Fu De Zheng Shen and Tiger Deity. This Year was the 1st Year that Taoist Bro Royce set-up the Sugar-cane Gate (甘蔗門) for the Celebration and after a week, the Sugar-cane Gate started to grow Shoots and turn Greener, this was a Good Sign for Tong Shan Tang and also, the Members in there – see Pic 01 - 03.

Early Morning of 6 of March, with the assistance of his Mother, Taoist Bro Royce had conducted the Manifestation Honouring, followed by, Honouring of Tiger Deity for the Public – see Pic 18 - 22.

In the Afternoon, Tong Shan Tang also conducted the Rewarding of Spiritual Armies known as Kao Jun (犒軍) dedicated to the Five Directional Camps of Tong Shan Tang and it’s Main Deity – Lord Guan Yu (關聖帝君) – see Pic 17.
