這天﹐眾善男信女欲「乞求財富」﹐則得準備相關供品前往奉祀有【趙玄壇公】的廟宇敬香祈願。

如果你現在人在中國西安﹐不妨前往【財神祖廟】向【趙玄壇公】上個香及乞個財﹐願” 祂”老人家發慈悲﹐賜你富貴平安﹐順道參與此日之隆重祈福儀式。

In Taoism and Chinese Custom, on the 26th Day of Lunar 1 Month (農曆正月廿六日), is considered as the Day for Heavenly Marshal Zhao Gong Ming (趙公明大天君) aka Deity of Military Wealth, to Open the Three Realms Spiritual Wealth Coffer for All the Beings in the Mortal Realm.

On this Day, Taoists & Chinese will tend to visit Temples that dedicated to Zhao Gong Ming & his Assistants (五路財神) to request for the Blessing of Wealth & Good Lucks and also, Official Personnel will request for Blessing for the Country or Big Society.

For Year 2017, its falls on 22 Feb.

What is the Story behind this Opening of Three Realms Wealth?

According to the Records of All Deities (三教搜神大全), after Zhao Gong Ming was being bestowed by Jade Emperor of Heaven (玉皇大天尊) as the Overall –in-charge of the Wealth for All Beings, he was also being appointed by Heavenly Master Zhang Dao Ling (張祖天師) to oversee All Doubts and Unsolved Issues that are associated with Wealth, etc (調解不平事宜。專治財務糾紛).

From then, since Sui Dynasty (隋朝), Taoists and Chinese had been Honouring Zhao Gong Ming as One of the Major Deities of Wealth and on 26th Day of Lunar 1st Month – which was said to be the Day that Zhao Gong Ming being appointed as the Overall-in-charge, Taoists and Chinese would honoured him, requesting Zhao Gong Ming to “Open” the Wealth Coffer for the Poor or Needy.

So when is the Best timing to pay respect to Heavenly Marshal Zhao Gong Ming?

For some Taoists & Chinese, they tend to start the honouring at Zi/Rat Hour (子時2300 Hours) but some can honoured Zhao Gong Ming at 9.00Am in the Morning till Evening time (best before Sunset).

For Year 2017, the Best Timing is 11.08Am.

So in Singapore, where can we pay respect to Heavenly Marshal Zhao Gong Ming?

新加坡供奉有趙玄壇公的廟宇 Here’re a few recommended Official Temples that oneself can visit:

Sembawang Cai Shen Temple (三巴旺財神廟) at Admiralty Road (in the Main Hall)

Jin Lan Temple (金蘭廟) at KimTian Road Tiong Bahra (at the Side Hall)

Tuas Pek Kong Temple (大士伯公宮) located at 118 Boon Lay Drive

So what are the Offerings that needed to prepare?

開財庫乞財所需供品 Here are the suggested items:

1 - One set of Mandarins (5 quantities 大桔五粒)

2 - One set of Chinese Tea Leaves & Traditional Cookies (Jian He 餞盒糖果一盤)

3 - One set of Cai Shen Incense-paper (optional 財神金)

4 - One set of Cai Shen Robe (in Red Color 紅色財神袍)

5 - One set of Incense (not to short, medium length will be best - more than 48cm 富貴長壽香)

6 - One Huat Kueh (發糕)

7 - Five Ancient Coins or The Five Emperors Coins (五個銅錢或五帝錢)

8 - One Red Packet (一個新紅包)

9 - One set of Red Candles (一對斗燭/紅燭)

After getting ready All the Offerings, visit any of the Temples and place All the Offerings on the Altar that dedicated to Heavenly Marshal Zhao Gong Ming (到達廟宇後﹐將一切供品擺於供案上).

Upon completing the placing of the Offerings, proceed to pay respect to the Main Deities in the Temple and last, proceed to the Altar for Zhao Gong Ming (先敬天地眾神後﹐在向趙玄壇公祈福).

Sincerely light the Long Incense, make 3 Respectful Bows and then kneel in front of the Altar.

Report to Zhao Gong Ming who you are and where you stay and then request for Good Luck & Necessary Blessing from him. (if you know of reciting the Bao Gao (寶誥), then do it before you do your reporting)

After reporting and requesting, stand up and sincerely bow 3 times again and then place the Incenses in the Urn and then step off the Altar area (祈福後﹐行三叩禮即可).

After 15 minutes, retrieved the Paper-offerings and burn them off (一刻鐘後將紙料化送).

Upon completion, return to the Altar, retrieve the Ancient Coins and make 3 rounds above the Burning Incenses, allow the Coins to receive the Blessings and then, keep them in the Red Packet (化寶後﹐回到供案﹐將之前所準備的銅錢放入新紅包中﹐在香爐上過香三巡﹐之後帶回作為”錢母”).

《北極雷府驅魔院北山英武財神楊真君》

丙申猴年北山財神楊真君聖誕吉慶

Manifestation Anniversary of Duke Yang Fei Long 2016

《北山財神楊真君》，本名楊顯，字飛龍，生于南北朝，是史上有名的將軍之一。

公元550年（東魏武定八年）夏季六月，福州發生重大旱災，之後導致瘟疫四起，《楊真君》見狀，將自己一切資產付出，供給救急。

不但如此，因《楊真君》之善舉，感動了周圍的好友，因而上司陳寶應將軍也出資賑災，很快的，災情就被穩定下來。

《楊真君》得道後，該處居民爲了幾年他的功德，而建廟紀念，但因戰火連年，最早的《楊真君廟》在唐朝建國之前就被摧毀，如今在中國福建省福州市東門鹤林村看到的《北山楊真君廟》是後來在唐朝所建。

在道教文化之中，因《楊真君》屢次建功，因此被金闕受封爲《北極雷府驅魔院。北山英武財神楊真君》，也就是閩南財神文化中的《第一財神》。

而《北極雷府驅魔院。北山英武財神楊真君》常被道子們誤認爲《水府斬怪楊元帥》及民間的《二郎神楊戩》，這就不對了。

因爲《楊真君》在南北朝夏季賑災功德的關係，後人也就把農曆六月廿六日，定爲其誕辰，而在道教記載中，其聖誕是爲農曆九月初九日。

今日在此分享，供大家明瞭。

On 26th Day of Lunar 6 Month (農曆六月廿六日) is considered as the Manifestation Anniversary of Duke Yang Fei Long aka Deity of Wealth of the Northern Mountain (北山財神楊飛龍真君聖誕).

For Year 2016, it falls on 29 July (a Friday).

In Taoism, he was considered as one of the few Official Taoist Deity of Wealth that being given the Official Appointment for distribution of Wealth to the Mortals.

Now in China Fujian Province, Fuzhou City, Dong Men He Lin Village (中國福建省福州市東門鹤林村), we are still able to see the thousand year old Temple dedicated to Duke Yang.

Requesting of Blessing for Wealth for New Year

Five Direction Wealth Formation (五方亨通迎富來)

財神比比是。
有緣自會來。
如果有需要。
一法定發財。

在此與各方同道好友分享” 新春富貴旺財法之二”﹐願大家能在新年內﹕

四季財來無法擋。
八面玲瓏好風光。

According to Old Chinese Lunar Year Custom Records (古時新年習俗記載), there are a few methods that one self can prepare in-order to gain the blessing of Wealth by the Deities of Wealth before New Year and during the New Year Period.

Heres another way to gain the Wealth Blessing.

So what shall be prepared?

一。 準備一張紅紙﹐尺寸為48公分*48公分

First, prepare a Red Paper with dimension of 48cm by 48cm. (If you cant get those red paper that used for Rituals/Ceremonies, just get any normal red construction paper from bookshop).

二。準備五色彩色水筆 (青/紅/黃或金/白(立可白/銀筆)/黑)

Second, prepare pens of the following 5 color, Green, Red, Yellow, White (can replace with white-paint or liquid-paper) & Black.

三。準備五個銅錢(元通寶/龍銀)

Third, prepare 5 Ancient Coins, if cant get the Ancient Coins, prepare 5 Singapore One Dollar Coins.

四。膠水

Forth, get a tube of UHU glue.

Once all these are ready, here we go with the preparation of the Formation.

So after preparing, what shall be done?

五。選一吉日﹐早上九時開始做

Choose a good day (according to the Chinese Lunar Calendar).

六。淨桌後將所有準備好的物件放於淨桌上

Place everything on a clean table and wait for the clock to hit 9.00Am (must be within 9.00 – 11.00Am in the morning).

七。九時正﹐攤開紅紙﹐在紅紙上順序畫上五色圈 (以銅錢/龍銀大小為準)

Once the clock shown 9.00Am, open up the red paper, draw a circle using the Green Pen first then follow by Red, Yellow, White and last Black (dimension of the circle, about the size of a 50cent Coin).

八。在畫完五色圈後﹐在圈內劃上太極圖

After drawing the circles, in the center of the circle, draw a Yin-Yang sign (white on left and black on right).

九。將銅錢/龍銀黏於太極圖上﹐五色圈內

After drawing the Yin-Yang sign, glue the Ancient or One Dollar Coin on top of the Yin-Yang sign.

After all the coins are being glued to the red paper, this is more or less considered complete for the first stage.

十。一切就緒﹐將準備好的紅紙放置在太陽下”曝晒”三刻鐘(45分鐘)

Now, bring the red paper with all the glued-coins to the window where you can get sunshine. Leave the red-paper under the tanning of the sun for about 45 minutes (remember, must be within 9.00 – 11.00Am).

After retrieving back from the tanning, the second stage is considered complete.

The most important stage, placing of the Wealth Formation.

十一(之一)。三刻鐘後。將其紅紙取回﹐如若是祈求自己財運順利﹐將其紅紙放於玄關處﹐將一張紅地毯放於上面﹐每日出門前踩一踩即可。

If one self is requesting for Self-Prosperity, place the Formation near to the Door-way, where one self can see when he/she exit and enter.

十一(之二)。三刻鐘後。將其紅紙取回﹐如若是祈求闔家財運順利﹐將其紅紙放於玄飯桌下即可。

If one self is requesting the Prosperity for the whole Family, place the Formation under the Dining Table (not necessary to glue it to the Table, just place somewhere that is visible).

Once the Formation is being placed, try not to let anyone touch it or shift it.

十二。在來年臘月十六日尾牙日送化即可。

Only after the 16th Day of Lunar 12 Month of Next Year, then the Formation can be taken down and discard away.

諸路財神寶誥 Praising Incantation of Deities of Wealth

端月初五財神到。
賜財去晦全年好。
誠心無須千般供。
一碗清水迎萬寶。

有到了新春迎財神之日了﹐每年的農曆正月(端月)初五日為諸路(十方)財神降臨人間﹐在這一天﹐四面八方的信眾皆會設供案迎接財神們的到來﹐希望在迎財神後﹐能一年財源不斷﹐富貴進門。

如果您未在除夕夜恭迎福祿壽三星君的話﹐那在大年初五日記得在家設供或到廟裡向財神獻上敬意哦。

招財進寶及文明財富諱字﹐有些記載稱為”花字”﹐最早成體於元朝元成宗大德年間﹐後興於明朝初年﹐多半見於春節”喜聯”﹐”春聯”﹐”門紅”之上﹐寓意”財源不斷進來”及”除舊迎新接福”。

傳至今日﹐多數人只廣用” 招財進寶諱字/花字”而逐漸忘卻” 文明財富諱字/花字”﹐後更有”日日見財”﹐”月月興隆”的諱字/花字撅起。

Taoist Secret Characters for Zhao Cai Jing Bao (招財進寶) & Wen Ming Cai Fu (文明財富) were first created in Yuan Dynasty Da De Period and later was being widely used in Ming Dynasty Early Period, such Characters were mostly seen on Spring Couplets that being placed on Walls, Doors and Altars.

In Spiritual Skills, such Characters are being used to Enhance Talismans that is mend for distributing Wealth.

Manifestation Anniversary of Heavenly Marshal Zhao Gong Ming 2013 (癸巳蛇年趙公明天君聖誕吉慶)

On 15th Day of Lunar 3 Month (農曆三月十五日), is known as the Manifestation Anniversary of Heavenly Marshal Zhao Gong Ming (趙公明天君聖誕吉慶日). 

For Year 2013, it falls on 24 April, a Wednesday. 

Remember, do not request any Un-necessary stuffs from him, cos even though Heavenly Marshal Zhao is considered as Deity of Wealth, but he is not a Deity that will distribute the Wealth Un-necessarily. 

Be Sincere & Faithful, once your Luck-period ripe, your Blessing from him will be there.

Ushering in Deities of Wealth on 5th Day (大年初五迎財神)

大年初五日寅時(六合貴人降臨吉辰)﹐正一龍山門於壇中請香恭迎五方財神降臨。願各方天下眾生﹐多福多祿﹐長壽添喜﹐財運亨通。

At Tiger Hours (0300 - 0459 hrs), Long Shan Men had conducted a simple Ceremony to usher in the Deities of Wealth. May all People be Blessed with Abundance of Wealth & Prosperity thru-out the Year.

Ushering in the Deities of Wealth 2013 (大年初五日-恭迎財神到我家)

大年初五日子時﹐與乙龍道兄前往新加坡北部三巴旺財神廟請香恭迎五方財神降臨賜福﹐並請香回壇中供奉。

Bi Gan Manifestation Anniversary (比干林始祖千秋聖誕)

Today, the 4th Day of Lunar 4 Month (農曆四月初四日) is known as the Manifestation Anniversary of Premier Bi Gan, which is also known as the Ancestor of the Lin Clan (even though the Surname Lin started from his Son known as Lin Jian 林堅).

This Year, 2009, Premier Lin is celebrating his 3101th Anniversary (born in BC1092 & Enlighted at BC1029).

Due to his Loyalty and Faithfulness, Premier Bi Gan is always being honoured by the Taoists & Chinese as the Deity for Loyalty & Uprightness. And due to his Uprightness, after he got Enlightenment, Heaven appointed him as the Deity of Wealth, which advised him to only Distribute the Blessing for Wealth to those who are Loyalty, Upright & Filial, other than that, no one is to able to request for any Blessing of Wealth from the Three Realms.

From then, Premier Bi Gan was known as the Wen Cai Shen aka Scholarly-Deity of Wealth (文財神 according to the outlook of him).

In Tang Dynasty (唐朝), after Tang Emperor Li Shi Min (唐太宗李世民) knew about the History of Premier Bi Gan, Emperor Li was deeply touched by Premier Bi Gan's Loyalty and so, during one of the Honouring Ceremony, Emperor Li bestowed another Official Title to Premier Bi Gan as Zhong Lie Gong (忠烈公) - meaning Loyalty Above All and after a few Years, Emperor Li bestowed another Official Title to Premier Bi Gan as Lin Tai Shi (林太師) - the Grand Premier.

From then, the Popularity of Premier Bi Gan started to rise and in Yuan Dynasty (元朝), the Yuan Emperor ordered People to dedicate Statue to Premier Bi Gan and in Qing Dynasty (清朝), the Qing Emperor re-renovated the Ancient Temple of Premier Bi Gan as a form of Showing Gratitude to him.

Ok, back to topic. For those who wished to Pay Respect to Premier Bi Gan, remember to visit any Temples that are around you to make your Offering before the Temple close.

Paying Respect to Deities of Wealth at Temple & Home (敕開財庫日之祭祀)

Yesterday, the 26th Day of Lunar 1 Month (20 Feb 2009), was considered as the Day where our Dearest Deities of Wealth Opening of the Spiritual Coffer in-order to provide the necessary Blessings for the Mortals & other Beings.

As usual, Long Shan Men (龍山門) will pay respect to Deities of Wealth in-order to request for necessary Blessings for the Mortals & our Country.

In late Noon, 2 of the Official Disciples of Long Shan Men 36th Generation and I arrived at Sembawang Cai Shen Temple (三巴旺財神廟). By the time we reached the Temple, the Temple was already crowded with Devotees (even though yesterday was a Friday). Seeing them queue-up for the Blessing Ceremony conducted by the China Priests, we went to the Altar outside the Temple to lay out our Offerings and start with our Honouring.

After lighting the Incenses, we pay respect to the Heaven & San Qing (三清道祖) and the 2 Disciples started to recite the Mantras in front of the Main Urn and Main Altars. Upon completion, we offered our Incenses and then proceed with the Burning of Paper-offerings.

Regular routine took place again, after visiting the Cai Shen Temple, I were sure to visit the Ma Zu Temple (天后宮) situated at the side of Cai Shen Temple to pay respect to Ma Zu and the 2 Generals. This time round, 2 Golden Pendants of Ma Zu (sembawang_mazutemple_01 - 02) were being bought for my Disciples and got enhanced in the Temple.

Just before we left for the last Temple located at the rear compound, the 2 Disciples started to seek approval from Ma Zu by using the Divination Block (聖筊) and both of them got the necessary replies after 3 trials (not easy to get).

Proceeding to Peng Lai Temple, we offered our Incenses and left for late lunch at Causeway Point. So co-incidence, famous Taiwan Actress Yang Cheng Ling (楊丞淋
) and other 2 Male Actors were in the Shopping Mall to have their Meeting with Fans session and the whole Shopping Mall was crowded with people. After a quick lunch cum dinner, we proceed to Eunos to meet up with a few Religious People to observe on the on-going Celebration held besides the MRT Station.

Soon after observing at the Tentage, the whole group of us proceed to the nearby Hawker Center to have a 2 hours chit chat on Religions and due to time is getting late, we had to bid goodbye and agreed to arrange for another session soon.

After departing, we proceed to the 12th Disciple's Home to pay respect to Deity of Wealth before the Clock striked 0000 hour. We were so lucky to reach his place 15minutes before 0000 hour. With the 3 people & 6 arms, we prepared the necessary Offerings in a quick speed and just before 0000 hour, we offered our Incenses (studenthome_caishen_01 - 04).

Due to rushing back from so many events, we settled down at the Disciple's home for awhile before proceeding to burn off the Paper-offerings, while resting, the 2 Disciples started to show interest in learning our Taoist Practical Skills and so, without hesitation, we started to do a few procedure training in the wee-hours.

Looking at the Clock, I realised that it was already 2Am-plus and so, we proceed to burn off the Paper-offerings. Soon after the burning was completed, the 12th Disciple seems to have replenished with Full & Positive Energies and so, he suggested that we walked all the way to Bedok Reservior to have a rest, enjoying the Breeze and chit-chat, all of us agreed and so, we proceed our journey there.

Upon reaching, the whole place was quiet and cooling, so we climb our way up to the mid-level of the small hill and sat down. After a short rest, we started to chit-chat on Taoism, analysing the Future of our local Taoism and also sensing the Energies-changing in the Surrounding Enivornment. As we chit-chating, the time almost slip-thru, by the time we finished chit-chating and had a quick drink, the time had reached 6.00Am in the morning.

Just as we about to leave for home, the 10th Disciple suggested that we pay a visit to the nearby Temple - Loyang Pek Kong Temple (洛陽大伯公宮) and so, within hesitation again, we proceed there. With a quick honouring, we left for breakfast at Changi Village and then, head home for Bed.

This is really a Joyous, Energise, Spiritual and Fulfilled Day.

Dotting Ceremony for Heavenly Marshal Zhao Gong Ming (趙公明元帥開光昇座儀式)

Today, 5th Day of Lunar 1 Month (農曆正月初五日), considered as the Manifestation Anniversary of Deity of Wealth. With such a Good Day & Joyous Festive Period, Long Shan Men (龍山門) conducted a Dotting Ceremony for the new statue of Heavenly Marshal Zhao Gong Ming for 1 of the 36th Generation Students.

In the home of the Student, an Altar was being dedicated to Heavenly Marshal Zhao Gong Ming. After a week of Preparation, today, we had a Good & Enjoyable Dotting Ceremony in the Morning.

Pictures of Cai Shen - Deity of Wealth (各路財神)

Cai Shen (財神) aka Deity of Wealth, from the name we shall know, they are Deities that are able to control the wealth or fortune for the mortals.

Since the day when mortal knew how to use money to exchange for other stuffs, Deity of Wealth appeared, not for blessing for mortals to become extremely rich, but to control the flow and movement of the money that involved in the mortals' activities.

So how many Deity of Wealth are there?

Haha, in this World, there are a lot, in folks culture, we have different type of Deity of Wealth, such as Military Wealth (武財), Scholarly Wealth (文財), Directly-Associated Wealth (正財), Physically-Associated Wealth (偏財), Wealth of Sudden Wealth (橫財), etc. Each type of Wealth is being in-charge by one Deity of Wealth.

So who are the famous Historical Characters that are being made to become a Deity of Wealth?

They are:

1) Guan Yu (關羽)
2) Bi Gan (比干)
3) Tao Zhu Gong (陶朱公)
