OK! here is the history from my grandfather....actually they are three of them "sworn brothers". They are: "救民海主温州侯王-big brother", "�h镇得道正总��侯王-2nd brother" and "比民�d玉忠烈侯王-3rd brother"...Which dynasty not sure; here is how the story goes; the big brother, a very royal minister advisor the Emperor not to do something but because of Imperial Court politics, the Emperor sentenced him to death wrongfully, thought he rebel him.......Later, the Emperor realised his mistake and dreamt about him...he requested the Emperor for a 49-days non-stop rituals praying so that he could ascent to Heaven.....after the ritual, Jade Emperor knew about it, appointed and "feng" him. He later met someone (later become his 2nd brother) who is a swordman & "文武双拳"...not a deity then....but good fighting skills & help getting rid off bad spirit and helping the poor..His big brother recommeded him to Jade Emperor for an appointment and he continue to gain such merit....that why the "得道" phase is in his title.......His original statue (50 years) is in standing position but my grandfather dreamt that it is not appropriate becasue "too fierce" for the family so I "carved" a sitting position (10 years) for him. As the third brother, my grandfather told me that he is "温州" real brother....They are all "文武双拳" and has a "warrant identification" so that they could be in Heaven, Earth and Sea. Hope that the above story about them shed some light.....Myself and family continue to celebrate his "feng" title on this day in a very close knit
Further to the above history...would like to add another point....Hainanese used to pray to the "一百零八英烈兄弟" is under him. The 108 brothers story....also from my grandfather....108 officials during an journey/expedition/war???(not so sure about this point) all drowned......Jade Emperor "feng" them and they are now under this Deity. We pray to them per the "passing" down from the my grandfather generation when he came to Singapore. My brother and sisters all have this statue or in painting form and they pray to them every day....Cheers!

I have got the brief background of Wen Zhou Hou Wang.
Wen Zhou Hou Wang, real name known as Yang Liang Jie (楊亮節), born in Southern Song Dynasty (南宋).
During the rebellious-battle between Yuan troops (元軍), General Yang was being forced to leave the Imperial Court, meaning had to part with the Emperor.
After trying several times of hoping to rescue the Emperor from the Yuan Troops, he team up with Officer Wen Tian Xiang (文天祥) and Lu Xiu Fu (陸秀夫) and fought all the way to Wen Zhou to rescue the Emperor from the capture.
During the battle, General Yang passed-away.
Due to his credits and merits, after the whole battle stopped, the people in Wen Zhou dedicated a Temple to him, named as Hou Wang Miao (侯王廟).

Yup, the 3 Female Deities are the common one. There's another Female Deity that usually the Hainanese will pay respect to, she is Madam Xian (冼夫人), in SEA, it's quite rare to see her statue.
Wow! thks to the history....i will shared this with my families....interesting...this is the first time that i got this version...that's the reasons, i hope one-day all Taoism will have somehow a more structured and organisational approach in the histrical tracing of all the Deities...i know that it will be a tremendous task ahead......cheers! i will be reciting the "San Yuan San Guan Zhen Jing" to them tonite....1st lunar day of September.

In my opinion, They should be 天后圣母,水尾圣娘 and 南海观音
