Ushering in of Deity of Wealth (恭迎財神到我家)

5th Day of Lunar 1 Month is consider as the Manifestation Anniversary of Deity of Wealth.

On this Day, Taoists & Chinese will visit Temples to pay respect to Deity of Wealth and also, to request for the Blessing of Fortune for the New Lunar Year.

In Singapore, due to some mis-concept and mis-teaching, a lot of Taoists & Chinese tend to Usher in the Deity of Wealth on the Eve or the 1st Day of Lunar New Year, which is not Accurate & Correct. But 1 thing I felt Good and Comfort is that, after some Temples & Sintuas approached me for the Lunar New Year Customs & Practices, this Year, most of the Temples & Sintuas that approached me had changed their In-correct Practices to the Upright & Accurate Customs. Really Good to them and also, Credits in Guiding the Taoists & Chinese back to the Original & Positive Practices.

Ok, in this Link (http://javewu.multiply.com/journal/item/186/186), we talked about how to Usher in the Fu Lu Shou 3 Star Lords, in here, I will like to touch on a bit on the Ushering in of Deity of Wealth.

On the 5th Day, before oneself or the Family visit Temples, please do the following procedures (for more Complicated Method of Respecting the Deity of Wealth, you can proceed to this link: http://javewu.multiply.com/reviews/item/124):

1) wear Red Shirt (with long pants or skirts)
2) prepare 1 set of 5 Oranges
3) prepare 1 pineapple
4) prepare 1 Huat Kueh (max of 9 Huat Kueh)
5) prepare 1 set of 48cm Long Incense
6) prepare 1 set of Red Candles
7) prepare Chinese Tea
8) prepare 1 bottle of Rice-wine
9) prepare 5 Longevity Peach Bun
10) prepare 1 packet of Mee Sua aka Longevity Noodle

Once ready, oneself and the Family can visit the Temple to pay respect to Deity of Wealth.

Recommended Temples to visit:

1 - Tuas Bo Gong Temple (大士伯公宮)

At the Temple, place all the Offerings on the Altar and then, pay respect to Heaven and All Main Deities in the Temple and last, proceed to the Altar that is dedicated to Deity of Wealth.

Once at the Altar, light the 3 Long Incenses, make 3 sincere Bows and then kneel down infront of the Altar.

Do a short report on who you are, where you stay, what is the event today and why you are here.

And then, recite the following paragraph:

Once this paragraph is being recited, sincerely get up and place the Incenses into the Urn.

Make a simple bow to the Deity of Wealth and then leave the spot.

After about 5-10 minutes, retrieve the Offerings and then return home. Remember to share the Offerings with the others.

Again, please do not make Un-necessary & Greedy Requestings.
