  3. Hi Bro Jave, So the Ee etc should be placed on the altars ready to pray at this time?

  4. The timing is set according to the movement of the Planet Earth, so when the Planet Earth passed a certain point or across a certain stars, the Winter Solstice willl start.

This is how we calculate the arrival of Dong Zhi :P

  9. Bro Jave,

Very good question form urofpersia about timing so as I am in UK the timing is following Chinese timing so 8hours time difference would make it 06.02 in the morning? econd question how long to leave Ee on the altars?

  10. Hahaha, yup :P

As for the Ee, usually we dont leave for too long.

Once the incenses finished or after burning of the josspapers, the Ee can be removed from the altar and then, mix it with those in the pot, heat up and then distribute out to the whole family to eat.

This is called the Blessed Ee for Reunion.

After removing of the Ee, some people will use oranges to replace the Ee on the altar, so as not to leave the altar vacant - Cos Winter Solstice is an important day in our Chinese Culture.
