Hi Jave, I recall previously mention that the 'time' we follow is different right? like from 2300-0100 is zishi, but how can this be accurate in terms of Singapore official time?
ReplyDeleteYa..indeed
ReplyDelete2300 - 0100 consist of 2 Chinese Hours, this is the common mistake that some of the Chinese made, to be more accurate, shall be 12:59.59.99, but in-order to make things easy, now ppl only record as 12:59, and so our Chinese Hour has to change to 1259 as the last point of Zi Hour.
ReplyDeleteIn Singapore, we are 1 Hour late from the Real Chinese Hour, and so, we can only start our Zi Hour at 0000Mn.
Correct.
ReplyDeletewow I did not know that the Chinese hours have something to do with our 5 organs 五腑 too.. great info.
ReplyDeletehahaha, so now u 大开眼解
ReplyDeleteyeap! ;-)
ReplyDeletei heard b4 the new day for chinese which is zi hour starts at 2300hrs. is that wrong?
ReplyDeleteThis is true but not refering to our local timing, cos we are 1 hour behind the actual timing and so, we can only celebrate on 0000Mn.
ReplyDeleteThis is the interesting part of our Chinese Culture & Taoism. All things that are in these 3 realms cannot escape from the Five Element. Once a person can escape from these Five Elements, that person will be considered as an Immortal or Saint - which the ultimate aim of being a cultivated person.
ReplyDeleteooo... hmm that means i can pray to jade emperor on his birthday from 2300 hrs... ha my family always does that lei...
ReplyDeleteYup, this is the practice of the older people, this is ok too, cos in China,Taiwan or Hong Kong, a new day starts from 2300 :P
ReplyDeleteThe position of the 12 Earthly Branches in the picture shown is the same as how it is arranged on our fingers when people do calculations.
ReplyDeleteRight?

ReplyDeleteYes, this is the basic formation that one must know.
ReplyDeleteUsually for such calculation, Yin will go 1st follow by Mao, then end with Chou.
Will elaborate more in the future.
ReplyDeleteYup. That's what I know of.
ReplyDeleteYup, but too bad, in SEA, such skills are being distorted and mis-used, really put our Chinese Culture and Taoist Teaching to a disgrace.
ReplyDeleteHmm.. This I do not really know much. But I guess that the fact is so.
ReplyDeleteHahahahaha, alot of these are being distorted, especially when they added other Non-Taoist Skills into our Traditional Taoist Skills....
