  1. Hello Master Jave. This is a good article, and I've tried this before. This is the same medecine we take in the Philippines. It is very effective. But, I add also add Te Pia (Cha Bing, cake tea) too. In two days, my sore throat became less painful. Thank you for sharing this! Your information is useful for all. I hope you can share more traditional knowledge with all of us! Thank you Master Jave!

  2. Hahaha, welcome.

Yup, Cha Bing is good for soothing the Heating-effect in the Throat.

But remember, Cha Bing cannot consume too much, cos it will add on the Heating Element if one's Physical-body belongs to the Heaty-style.

  3. May I ask, how do you know if one is heat or cold-body nature?

Is it true, overweight people have too much "cold" (in traditional Philippine medecine, we say too much "air and water")? And very thin people have too much heat? :p

  4. Overweight is consider Cold Element? This is not True. This has to depend on the food that a person consume. Cant use their Body-size to predict.

Heaty Body Element usually can be seen thru by:

    1) Lips - tend to be too dry
    2) Got Bad Breath
    3) tend to get thirsty easily
    4) constipation

  5. OK, so we can use the flower-tea recipe to help dispel excess heat? What about hawthorn (Shan Zha), is that heating or cooling? Thank you Master Jave!

  6. This Tea is one of the Cooling Tea. But if the Heaty Issue is too serious, meaning that one of the Organs is in some disrupted state, better approach Physicians for further check-up.

Shan Za is one of them that can release the Heat, but eat too much will cause other issues too... so do be moderate.
