These are the Five Lords of the Five Planets - Jupiter (木星), Venus (金星), Mars (火星), Mercury (水星) and Saturn (土星).
In Taoism, they do hold important tasks and duties to assist and bless the Living Beings in the Mortal Realms.
In Ancient Taoist Scriptures, the names of the Five Lords are being recorded (without any helps of Rockets or Satellites or Spacemen).

ReplyDeleteIn the past, Astrology Study was a must for Imperial Court and all the Masters that study this course would need to know where and when the stars/planets/other objects would appeared and this was how, alot of records were being made, etc.
Far before Han Dynasty, where Taoist started to get standise, there were already tonnes of records on the movements of such Planets, etc.

ReplyDeleteTo be more accurate, Huo Shen is just a normal Deity that in-charge of the the Fire, but this Huo De Xing Jun is a Overall Deity that in-charge of movements & issues that involved the Fire or the Element of Fire.
