Pictures of Marshal Tian Peng (天府四聖之天蓬元帥)

Tian Peng Yuan Shuai (天蓬元帥) aka Marshal Tian Peng, full Official Title known as Tian Peng Yu Zhen Shou Yuan Zhen Jun (天蓬玉真壽元真君), one of the Four Heavenly Marshal Sages (天府四聖 - 天蓬、天猷、翊聖、佑聖) that assist Lord Emperor Zi Wei of the Northern Hemisphere aka Bei Ji Zi Wei Da Di (北極紫微大帝), performing his task in Yuan Ying Tai Huang Department (元應太皇府).

Due to the element that he belongs to, he got the energy of the Wood Element (木氣之精) which is directed to the East Direction (氣屬東方).

According to Taoist Records, Tian Peng Yuan Shuai’s real name was known as Bian Zhuang (姓卞名莊), a manifestation in The Great Dipper of the North aka Bei Dou Xing Jun (with him and Tian You Yuan Shuai 天猷元帥, they make up the Nine Emperors 又稱九皇大帝), born in Zhou Dynasty (生於周朝), outlook with 3 heads and 6 arms (while in provoke situation, he will show 4 heads and 8 arms), each hand holding on to a Spiritual Weapons (fighting against negative entities and demons).

Under him, he got 300,000 Spiritual Armies and 36 Heavenly Generals (統領三十萬兵與三十六大天將等).

In Late Ming Dynasty, after Journey to the West was being written, Tian Peng Yuan Shuai was being degraded by the author to a lusty piggy form, which was a serious insult on our Taoist Deities.

PS: In the last picture (tianpeng0.jpg) is a Taoist Object/Weapon that named after Marshal Tian Peng, known as Tian Peng Chi aka Tian Peng Ruler, this is one of the Object used during special ritual/ceremony - to ward off negative entities or spirits.

  3. bro is this tian peng yuan shuai... the zhu ba jie?

  4. Hahahaha.. Zhu Ba Jie only appear in the classic Journey to the West, which is a classic that written to insult and down-grade Taoism in Late Ming Dynasty.

In the classic, the author said that Zhu Ba Jie is the reborn of Tian Peng Yuan Shuai after he disturb Chang E in Guang Han Palace...

But in real fact, there's no such thing... only those who are supporting the other Religions (downgrading Taoism) will tend to dedicate statue of Pigsy to replace Tian Peng Yuan Shuai.

  5. Marshal Tian Peng is also known as Ucchusma (秽迹金刚) in Buddhism.

By the way, we can also see the name of Marshal Tian Peng appearing in 《一白咒》:

  6. That insult comparing him to sex crazed pig, does that mean that he is in fact Chu Ba (Buddhist version) of course?

    ReplyDelete
  7. Hahaha.. of cos not.. in Buddhism, there's no Zhu Ba Jie too... wahahaha

    ReplyDelete
  8. but got ppl pray to zhu ba jie ?

    ReplyDelete
  9. Hahahaha.. let them pay respect to him lo... no comments.. wahahaha

  10. Shi Fu.....sad to hear that Marshal Tian Peng is being taken advantage of even with his ranking. Fortunately, we have u here to provide us the clarification...great to know the truth...never too late...sp

jave isit ur job to tell the whole- world ? hahahaha : )

    ReplyDelete
  12. Hahahaha.. my job is to spread to as many people as possible... unless someone like sihai here to oppose on me... wahahahaha

anyway, in other countries, most of the Taoists are being taught on the right teaching, only those who are degrading Taoism is still trying to spread rumours on how bad our Deities are... anyway, no worries... one day, truth will appear.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Ai...leave my piggy brother alone... I like him at the "Journey to the West" and best let him stay there and I certainly don't like the idea that someone should make fun of Marshal Tian Peng either.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Hahahaha.. too bad is that, cos of jealousy among Religions, alot of other Religions like to mock on Taoism of spreading the ideas of paying respect to multiple Deities...

    ReplyDelete
  15. Sigh... when then we really appreciate what we have here in Singapore, where we should have relatively nice people who are tolerant of other religions?

In any case, I was brought up a Catholic, but I always have a healthy respect for other people's religion, and accord reverence to another diety or god... after all, who says there is only one way to reach out to God?

    ReplyDelete
  16. Hahahaha.. its good that you think that way and respect the other Religions... this is the type of people that really can see God after they left... salute to you.

bro some questions .. though there is no zhu ba jie in buddhism but is there tian peng yuan shuai ?

    ReplyDelete
  18. Hahahahaha... if they insist to have one, we cant stop that... from the title 秽迹金刚, you can see, it's again another "down grade" for Tian Peng.

Tian Peng Yuan Shuai in Taoism, is a very high rank and important Marshal that leads Million Millions of Spiritual Armies and Generals. Once a title become a Jin Gang, thats all....

    ReplyDelete
  19. this is because buddhism dont really have the title General. The title 金刚 is the best word already. Buddhism practise fairness and respect other religions; but when buddhism came into china, some of the dieties's name and title had convert into the buddhist version and the RESPECT is still there.

i think bro Javewu you got the wrong idea.
we buddhist did not down grade any of the dieties. We're still respecting them high up.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Hahahaha.. as for this, I cant comment much, cos my task here is to promote the Correct and Upright Culture of Taoism.

And how our Taoist Deities being imported into Buddhism, and how the titles being changed, I think only the person or the author who gave the name and make the importing, know the answers.

To me, Taoist Deities cannot be mix with Buddhist Deities, once mix, issues happened.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Ucchusma Deity is actually the Vajra manifestation of Shakyamuni Buddha. The full title is 秽迹金刚大权神王佛.

So I don't think this is a "down grade" but a "up grade" for Marshal Tian Peng since there is a "佛" in his title.

  22. I will like to apologise to those, whose posts are being deleted, cos the information contained inside can be quite misleading, for those who are seeking the right culture of Taoism or in this Taoism Website or the Web that promotes the Culture of Main Stream Taoism or Real Taoist Chinese Deities.

Anything un-related or not closely associated can cause un-necessary issues.

    Thanks for the understanding.

  23. Shifu do you have pictures of 翊聖、佑聖?

  24. Yi Sheng is a bit rare to find, but You Sheng is Xuan Tian Shang Di, so you can proceed to the section that is dedicated to him.

But in some other contexts, the Four Sages got their own names, here they are:

Tian Peng (天蓬): Liu Jie Zhuang (劉傑莊)

Tian You (天佑): Tang Yuan (唐淵)

Yi Sheng (翊聖): Zhang Hai Ji (張海機)

You Sheng (佑聖): Li Hao Qi (李浩忔)

    ReplyDelete
  25. What is the other title of Yi Sheng (翊聖)... If You Sheng is Xuan Tian?

    ReplyDelete
  26. Yi Sheng is being recorded as the Marshal of the Negative Energy that is able to put all demons & evil entities into cease in a very short period.

The full title of Yi Sheng is Yi Sheng Bao De Chu Qing Zhen Jun (翊聖保德儲慶真君).

With him, he got the authority to summon Liu Ding Liu Jia and other Spiritual Armies to work for him or assist him in any form of subduing.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Thank you very much. I wonder why it became very hard to see his image.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Yi Sheng is not that common and only those who are into Main Stream Taoism or an Official Taoists will know who are the Four Sages, if not, alot of people will just treat them as normal Generals.

    ReplyDelete
  29. hehehe. Glad we have the opportunity to learn from you if not we'll don't know much about these things either. We really appreciate your hardwork, researches and kind effort of guiding and teaching us. Wu Liang Shou.

  30. Hahahaha, its my task to do that.

I'm sure there are more people out there doing the same thing as me....
