This is a scroll painting used during Rituals/Ceremonies to invite the Deities of Storm, Wave & Water (主管風潮﹐海浪﹐水勢之神明).
They are all under the authority of Lord Emperor of Water Realm aka Shui Guan Da Di (為水官大帝所管轄).
In the past, when a drought or flood happened, folks would engaged Spiritual Masters/Leaders or Priests to perform a Ritual/Ceremony to request for the necessary blessing from the various Deities (in order for the Deities to make reports to Shui Guan Da Di, etc).
In Singapore, such a painting is rarely or seldom be used.

ReplyDeleteIn our altar we have Shui Guan Da Di can we also have this below him in the altar to pay respect or only in spiritual rites do we need to post up their posters? Thanks Shifu.

ReplyDeleteHahahaha, on that day, remember to recite the Bao Gao of Shui Guan Da Di 1st, then followed by asking his permission on whether the other Water Deities are allowed to enter into ur temple. Once the permission is granted, then place the pictures onto the altar and recite the other Bao Gaos.
ReplyDeleteRemember to perform the Birthday Respect Ritual for Lord Tai Yi on that day, I'm sure by now, you all know how to perform liao.
We are (almost all of us) quite well-versed on that now. But some of those who live 5 hours away can only attend by saturday is it okay to repeat the procedure for them?

ReplyDeleteRemember to request blessings for all the entities around ur areas, they are the groups that needed the blessings more than us the mortals.
A grieving lady ghost which has been walking around the neighborhood and being heard by all folks crying everysingle night has been being seen and heard in our neighborhood starting around five years ago. It was a new ghost, but the weird thing even people who don't have spiritual abilities can hear its sound. I even play my mp3 player full blast when the ghost is crying while walking pass our house it is ultra creepy.
ReplyDeleteAfter reciting much Tai Yi Bao Gao I dreamed of hundreds of spiritual entity just outside the yard. 4 or 6 of them went into the "bright light" overhead while most went into the lesser bright light, after that the usual spiritual disturbances around the neighborhood vanished. Even the dogs don't howl that much now. The crying ghost is also gone and so is the creepiness in the dark areas before is also gone.
Shifu what is that bright light and lesser bright lights? Why did they appear after reciting Tai Yi's Bao Gao Hundreds of times in one go?
Light is a form of guidance for any kinds of souls or spirits, just like a Lighthouse in the sea, to guide the boats safely onto the shore.
ReplyDeleteAfter reciting such Mantras or Scriptures and different forms of lights are being emitted, meaning that, different forms of spirits or souls are being salvaged or the souls/spirits' sins or debts are being lessen in a way that, they can somehow leave this mortal world to another realm for case-hearing or waiting for reborn, etc.
But once the light emitted and being sudden cut-off, meaning that, some obstacles are there trying to stop the positive energies from doing the salvation, then the one who doing the reciting must take precaution.
