As you can see in the pictures, more and more new style Talismans had been created to attract modern people.

There's a lot, it's a form of decoration for the frame.
ReplyDeleteIn Taiwan, usually such design will be used for Wang Ye Talismans or Ma Zu Talisman.
do u have ba gua zu shi talisman to show ? the one with a ba gua and eight immortals name on it one...its big one i guess...thx
ReplyDeleteHahahaha.. this is not a very common one, only those temples or altars that dedicated to Ba Gua Zu Shi will have it.

Cos in Taoism, we dont really used the Eight Immortals on Talismans.
oh but isit a powerful talisman ? as in compared to other common ones..

ReplyDeleteBa Gua Zu Shi is indeed a so-called strong Deity in Spiritual Skills, but as for Talisman, u will need to know who wrote it, which Deity endorsed it, etc, in order to know how "productive" the result is.
ReplyDeleteoh i have seen one tt is endorsed or 'chopped' by tai shan lao jun, mao shan fa zhu, lv shan fazhu and liu ren xian shi 'chop' and the talisman can only be obtained by asking san qing for it as in have to throw some ancient coins instead of the sheng bei to know if the answer is yes or no for u to obtain the talisman...ya..any idea which sect this method belongs to ? THX for ur infos...its great !!
ReplyDeleteAll the Sects that you mentioned here are classified under the big umbrella of Zheng Yi Sect, which is the first initial Sect that being founded by our Heavenly Master Zhang Dao Ling.
ReplyDeleteDue to Zheng Yi Sect is known as the Sect of using Talismans in assisting the needy, all minor sects which used Talismans as one of their weapons or objects belong to Zheng Yi.
As for the modern days now, alot of the Spiritual People who practiced Talisman Skills dont really know which Sect they are from, and this is why, alot of mixing of skills and knowledge.
Tai Shang Lao Jun seal is a seal that can be widely used by all Sects, Mao Shan & Lv Shan usually only the sect themselves will used, Liu Ren Xian Shi as in Yi Shan Seal or another seal? Cos from what I know, Liu Ren Sect got only 2 very important seals that needed to pass down to their disciples, which one is Tai Shang Seal and another is Yi Shan Seal (to remain the disciples to do more charity works and good deeds, etc).
So for ur enquiry, I will need to see the Talisman in-order to reply to ur qns.
oh ...for the seal is all four of their name on the same seal...

Just something more to share with you.
If the seal that you saw belongs to any sintua, then it doesnt have any direct association with our Main Stream Taoism, but if such seal belongs to Priest or Spiritual Master, etc, then we will be able to track their belonging, etc.

ReplyDeletePo Sui Fu, there are a few, but the most commonly used will be Jiu Feng Po Sui Jiang Jun Fu. Besides using the Jiu Feng Fu, we also needed to recite the Jiu Feng Po Sui mantra to enhance, if not, the power will reach the maximum.
ReplyDeleteQi Lin Xian Shi Fu aka Qi Lin Fu, a talisman used for settling certain energies.

I see. What I have seen before is Jiu Feng Po Sui Jiang Jun Fu, with the title of Liu Song Er Jiang Jun inside.

Usually Jiu Feng Jiang Jun will be the main and other Generals' names can be included inside.
