Awakening of the Mortal Realm - Jing Zhe Day 2012 (壬辰年大地復甦驚螫日)

Jing Zhe Day (驚螫日), is a Day in the Lunar Calendar to mark the Awakening of the Planet Earth or Mortal Realm after the long & cold Winter (for the past 1 Season).

Usually on this Day, Raining (drizzling) or Slight Storm will occurred and a Thunder Roar will be heard (but due to the Weather change in this Modern Era and with the effects on Global Warming, such Natural Scenes might not be able to be seen annually).

For Ren Chen Year or Year 2012, Jing Zhe Ri falls on 13th Day of Lunar 2 Month, which is 05 Mar 2010 (Monday), timing starts at 12:23 Am (Chinese Hour - Wu 午時).

Why is there a Loud Thunder Roar and why is it so Special?

In the Ancient Era, Taoists & Chinese believed that this was the Thunder Roar that sound to wake-up all Beings that were sleeping or resting during the Winter Period. Once this Thunder Roar was being released, then all Beings were have to wake-up and continue to perform their regular tasks for the New Year (平地一聲雷,大地復甦醒).

Besides that, what the Taoists & Chinese will do on this Day?

Due to this is the Day of All Beings being waken up by the Thunder Roar, All Animals (including the Spirits & Energies) will also be waken up, this includes that Tiger Deity that the Chinese & Taoists or Folks pay respect to.

On this Day, the people will prepare the following offerings to pay respect to Tiger Deity for the blessing of getting rid of Back-stabbers aka Xiao Ren (小人) - (A lot of Folks tend to mistaken this Day as rhe Birthday of Tiger Deity)

1 - A few Raw eggs (幾只生雞蛋)
2 - A piece of Raw Pork meat with fats (豬肉與豬油)
3 - A handful of Uncooked Yellow Noodles (生面)
4 - A piece of Tau Kua aka Beancurd (豆干)
5 - 2 or 5 Oranges (桔子)
6 - Jian Hup & Tea Leaves (餞盒與茶葉)
7 - Paper Offerings for Tiger Deity (usually can get in the Temple 虎神紙料)
8 - Sesame & Green Bean (芝麻綠荳)

Once all these items are being prepare, then the paying respect can take place.

So what is the best timing to pay respect?

The later the better.

For example: If Jing Zhe Ri starts at 13:10pm, oneself or the Family shall try to visit any Temples to pay respect to Tiger Deity after 4-5 Hours later (which says 17:10pm or 18:10pm).

This is to allow the Tiger Deity to have his full meal before the requesting of Blessing take place. Due to the Wakening of the Tiger Deity, the initial Energies that being released by the Tiger Deity is considered Strong & Fierce, and so, we will advise people to go later in-order for those with weak body to get lesser un-necessary interruption in their Physical & Spiritual Mind, Soul & Body.

So how to go about with the paying respect?

Once in the Temple, lay out the offerings, if the Temple allowed, place the Meat in the mouth of the Statue of the Tiger Deity.

After the laying out of the offerings, pay respect to Heaven and the Main Deities in the Temple and then, last, pay respect to the Tiger Deity.

During the paying respect, report Ownself’s name, the Date, the reason of this paying respect, etc.

After that, take out the Paper Offerings, get the Red Paper Doll & Green Horse, paste them together on the Pink Paper, after that, Paste them on the Wall provided and then burn off the remaining Paper Offerings.

In here, Jave wont encourage people of beating the Xiao Ren (小人), cos, here you beat them, at the other sides, people are beating you too and so, once this continue, the Cycle wont stop (冤冤相報何時了).

If one self is that Generous and Kind to accept the others, one day, the others will be there to accept you and so, let the hatred gone with the Fire and Retrieve the Goodness back for All and Oneself (欣喜接納福氣至).

Once the burning is done, do not need to retrieve back the offerings, just leave the Temple and then forget about the whole situation.

Anniversary of Heavenly Master Zhang Distribution of Charity Rice 2012 (壬辰年張祖天師開倉發米振濟紀念日)

A lot of People will only know that, on the 26th Day of Lunar 1 Month (農曆正月廿六日), is known as the Day for Heavenly Marshal Zhao Gong Ming (趙公明大天君) aka Deity of Military Wealth, Opening of the Three Realms Spiritual Wealth Coffer for All the Beings in the Mortal Realm. But very minimal People know that this is also the Anniversary Day of Heavenly Master Zhang Dao Ling (張祖道陵天師) distributing of the collected Rice to the Needy in Han Dynasty after he had collected the Five Bushes of Rice (五斗米) from those who came to seek assistance from him.

After so many years of researching and study under Heavenly Master Zhang, only until this year, after visiting China Si Han Tian Shi Fu (中國嗣漢天師府), Jave got to know that 26th Day of Lunar 1st Month was the Anniversary that distributed the Charity Rice to the needy after his very first collection of the Five Bushes of Rice during Han Dynasty in Mt He Ming (鶴鳴山).

Besides that, Jave was also taught to understand the hidden meaning of the Five Bushes of Rice – not just the Weight but also the Calculation and the Spiritual Connection with the Star Lords (星君論) in Zheng Yi Sect (正一天師道).

So how oneself can do the Honouring?

Oneself can do the Honouring by doing Chanting on the Bei Dou Scripture (太上北斗經) or San Guan Scripture (三官經), if possible, Chant the whole series of the Dipper Star Lords Scriptures (太上五斗經), in front of your Main Altar or facing the Heaven with just 3 Incenses and 3 cups of Chinese Tea.

Oneself need not prepare any massive Offerings for this Event, cos the Objective of this Event is for Oneself to cultivate Compassionate and Care for the Beings in the Three Realms.

So from this year onwards, do remember to mark this Date in your Taoist Calendar.

May Heavenly Master Zhang Dao Ling bestow the necessary upon you and your family.

Brief introduction on Li Chun Day 2012 (壬辰歲始立春之簡介)

Rating:★★★★
Category:Other

A "Logically" Lunar Year is about to End and a New "Logically" Lunar Year is around the corner to allow us to usher in.

Time flashes like Lighting and now we are already in Year 2012 and for Lunar Year is Ren Chen Year (壬辰年).

So what is Li Chun Day?

A lot of people might not know that, actually our Lunar New Year will start on Li Chun Day or Lunar New Year will only be consider as Officially Arrived only after Li Chun Day.

Li Chun Day is a day to mark the start of a New Lunar Year and also, to mark the Arrival of the Spring Season.

Usually after Li Chun Day, most of the plants will start to grow again, snow will slowly cease and accumulated-ice will start to melt, etc.

So how to know when is Li Chun Day?

According to the Ancient Calculation, Li Chun Day will be within 45-49days after Dong Zhi (冬至) aka Winter Solstice or +/- 4-9 days from Lunar New Year (except for special Lunar Calendar Year).

In Solar Calendar (陽曆), usually Li Chun Day will fall within 3rd, 4th or 5th of every February.

For Year 2012, it falls on 04 Feb, a Saturday (農曆端月十三日), starts at 1825 Hr (酉時).

So what are the events that will happen on Li Chun Day?

In the past, on Li Chun Day, Emperor would led the Officers of the Imperial Court to the Eastern Field (東郊 out from the Capital City) to usher the Spring or Deity of Spring (迎春神), this represent the Spring Deity was there to perform his task, etc.

As for commoners, they would visit Temples to pay respect to Deities for blessing for the New Year.

Some Folks Organisations would organize Traditional performances, Lion Dances, Guessing-games, etc.

For the modern day now, due to works, education, etc, a lot of such Traditional Dates/Festivals are being forgotten. This is indeed a pity sad thing.

Besides the above mentioned Events, Li Chun Day is also a Day to usher in Lord Tai Sui of the New Lunar Year (值年太歲星君).

For those who are being affected by the Confliction of Lord Tai Sui, Oneself or the Family can visit Old Temples with Proper Altar set-up dedicating to Lord Tai Sui to pay their respect. After the paying respect to Lord Tai Sui, everything will be fine and if Oneself is Sincere & Upright, that Year will usually turn out Good & Peaceful.

So when is the Best Timing to visit Temple to pay respect to Lord Tai Sui?

For those who are Not working, you can start to visit Temple to honour Lord Tai Sui after Li Chun Day (next day), for those who are working, then you can choose to visit the Temple on Weekends, but remember to do it before the Lunar New Year arrives.

Last of All, an Advise for ALL. For those who are able to visit 3 Temples on Li Chun Day, it will be Great. This action is to eliminate ALL un-necessary Negative Energies that have pestered Oneself for the past 1 Year. As for those who cant make it, Family Members or Friends can assist in paying respect to the Deities on-behalf of them.

For those who needed to Replenish their Spiritual Coffer (消災改運添補庫), Li Chun Day is also a Good Day to perform this Ceremony.
