Hi Shifu, can i check if those who have ancestor just passed away not more than a year, are they allow to pray to tian gong at home or they are not allow to pray at all for the next 3yrs? tkssss
ReplyDeleteOnce it is after 49 or 100 Days, it is able to go honour le.
ReplyDeleteHi, tks for the info. :)
ReplyDeleteHi jave, my grandma passed away 42 days ago.,.
ReplyDeleteto be honest with you, i have been going to temples faithfully for the last 7 months; i completely didn't think about it being taboo for me to go before xxx days..
i have been going to the temples at Waterloo Street, Philip Street and Telok Blangah right after my grandma got cremated (which i didn't attend cos I was told i shouldn't due to my lack of luck and my mom allowed me to skip)
I feel a sense of peace after praying.. and honestly, i don't think i could get through this very difficult period in my life if i have to stay away from temples for so long
The flower vendors and temple helpers at Waterloo street told me it's ok to go after cremation as well,..
So what's the right way?
In any case, i have been to temples so many times since my grandma's cremation..
Do you think i would have offended the dieties? I have been praying to Tian Gong and giving him a lot of offerings..
Thanks for your answer..
Dear extremelysad,
ReplyDeleteDo not worried about the offending, cos a Real Deity wont be offended, especially for those who sincerely visit Temples and make their respect.
As for those who cant go to Temples within a certain Days, 1st is due to their discomfort and 2ndly, due to home restrictions. But once all these discomfort or restrictions are being "taken off", all will be natural. This is Taoism.
Keep on with your good effort. This is something that worth encouraged and complimented.
