5th Day of Lunar 5 Month (農曆五月初五日) is considered as the Attaining of Immortality Anniversary of Water Duke Qu Yuan aka Shui Xian Zun Wang Qu Yuan (水仙尊王屈原...飛昇得道吉慶).
In Taoism, Shui Xian Zun Wang is a General/Overall Addressing Term used to address a group of Water Deities or Dukes that are associated with Sea/River/Stream/etc.
Qu Yuan was part of the Shui Xian Zun Wang group, due to he had sacrificed himself by jumping into River Mi Luo (汨羅江) on the 5th Day of Lunar 5 Month.
This Year, 2013, it falls on 12 June, a Wednesday. This Day is also known as the Duan Wu (端午) or in Folks’ term known as Dumpling Festival (民間一般稱為粽子節).
