Hi Shifu Jave,
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised that one of the brothers of the Yang family became a Buddhist monk!... I thot all of them were warriors, so were their wives... wow.. I didn't know.. this is new info for me...
Hi Sifu,
ReplyDeleteHave you heard before this god by the name of Lau Mu Jiang? The word mu is mother, Jiang is warrior.
Thanks
Hi Jave,
ReplyDeleteearly this year i read a local newspapers article that one of our minister, surname Yang had visited his hometown in Guangzhou vicinity to pay respect to his anscendants who were Song Warriors too. Just wonder can they be Yang Ye's family lines too.
Is there any temple in S'pore that worship Yang Jia Warriors? realised that there is quite a number of deities were appointed in Song Dynasty as Ong Ya ..BTW, I bought the Zhuang Zi comic version book that u mentioned....Very Enriching for Minds & Soul to THINK !!!
Yup, thats the 5th Son of Yang Ling Gong. Since young, he had been strongly connected with Buddhism whereas his 6th Bro is strongly connected with Taoism.
ReplyDeleteDuring the War in Jin Sha Tan, Yang Wu Lang manged to escape from being captured, in-order to survive, he went to Mt Wu Tai to get initiated as a Monk.
Till today, if you will to visit the Buddhist Temple in Mt Wu Tai, you can still see Wu Lang's Story and Statue in there.
This Title can refer to Wang Mu aka Mother Queen (王母) or She Sai Hua, which is the Yang Ling Po.
ReplyDeleteSome said is Li Shan Lao Mu (梨山老母)
You managed to get the Book, that's Great. Do study it carefully and I'm sure you will learn more.
ReplyDeleteYup, thats the Descendant of Yang Warriors.
In Singapore, you can visit Wu Tai Shan Temple at West Coast Road, just directly opposite West Coast Plaze formerly known as Ginza Plaza.
Hi Dave, Is Yang Wu Lang also known as Yang Gong Da Shi ? I remember seeing a statue of him looking fierce in military costume whereas the one at Wu Tai Shan Temple(West Coast Road) is a monk. Are they both the same and who would pray to him ?
ReplyDeleteIn Chinese Deity System, Yang Gong refers to another Deity whom is a Feng Shui Master.
ReplyDeleteUsually Wu Lang, we address him as Fo Gong (佛公) in Folks Culture.
杨德禅师 refers to 杨六郎 ? why is yang liu lang strongly connected to taoism?
ReplyDelete杨德禅师 is not Yang Liu Lang, Thats Yang Wu Lang.
ReplyDeleteAccording to Records, Yang Liu Lang was the Manifestation of Nan Dou Xing Jun (南斗星君).
oooic. thanks.
ReplyDeleteMy dad just came back from a trip to China. He visited a monastery dedicated to the our Yang family line. We are traced all the way back to Yang Ye!
ReplyDeleteThats Great, so you can considered as the Descendant of Yang Warrior?
ReplyDeleteSure! My father has also researched our family line. :-)
ReplyDeleteWarm regards,
Yang
