Fifth Day of Lunar First Month is known as Ge Kai Day, which means Clearing of Rubbish Day or Sending Off Poverty Day.

In some places, on this Day, people will also practised Sending Off of Back-stabbers or disconnecting any form of relationships with those people whom oneself wanted not to meet anymore.

In Lunar New Year or Taoism Practises, this Day, Taoists had to clean the Altar and retrieve-down all the Offerings that were being offered on the First Day, this is to make sure that the Altar is Clean and Neat for the ushering of Deities of Wealth, Prosperity & Happiness.

PS: For LSM, after doing Ge Kai, Jave will prepare a new set of Oranges and 3 cups of Water to offer to the Deities.
