How to Prevent Negative Entities from Entering ones Home Part 01 (防範陰體所入侵分享之一)

In Taoism, Geomancy Theory, Spiritual Skills and Chinese Customs, there are tons of methods to prevent Negative Entities from entering into ones home.

In here, I will like to introduce a few easy methods for those who are not Spiritually-trained and yet, they can be performed it at home to do self-home protection & prevention.

A – Avoid North-East Direction (東北) & South-west Direction (西南)

In Taoism, Geomancy, Spiritual Theory & Chinese Customs, NE & SW Directions are considered as the Ghostly or Negative Directions (鬼方).

What does it mean of Ghostly or Negative Directions?

Cos in the Ancient Era, Chinese tend to believe that Spirits, Souls & other Negative Beings will be released from these 2 Directions and once such Beings are being released, Negative Lucks will be bestowed upon the Mortals causing un-necessary issues to happen.

After Thousand years, this Theory is still being widely used and the Chines are still following it closely and respectfully.

And so,

1 – while sleeping, the Top of the Head shall not face these 2 Directions

2 – do not place Died-water (water that is not moving or flowing) at these 2 Directions, Died-water represents Negative Element and if the water is being placed at these 2 Directions, the Water might absorb the Negative Energies that will bring harm to the members in the home (in Health Theory, Died-water will breed many forms of insects which can be harmful to ones health)

3 – do not place Bamboos (real or artificial) on these 2 Directions (Bamboos are believed to be one of the plants that used to summon Souls)

4 – do not place any Metal-form-Wind-charm (風鈴) on these 2 Directions, but Wooden-made-Wind-charms are okay (Metal-form-Wind-charm will sound like Bell that used to summon Souls)

5 – do not place any Un-enhanced Statues on these 2 Directions, as the Entities might enter into the Empty Objects to stay for good

6 – try to avoid placing the Ancestors Tablets on these 2 Directions, if the Ancestors are not there in the House, other Beings might take over the Place

B – Avoid bringing an Opened Umbrella into the House

In Chinese Customs, this is one of the most serious Taboos to avoid.

Usually Umbrellas (especially Black-color) that being used to shade someone in Cemetaries, Temples or during Funerals, are not allowed to bring into the House while they are still being Open-up.

Reason, Chinese believes that Souls & Entities might transformed themselves into smaller form to hide inside the Umbrella and then, follow one self home.

For those who have to bring such Umbrellas home, here are a few methods to use before bringing them into the house:

1 – leave the Umbrella outside the house for a Day or place it under the Sun to allow Sun-bath for 1 Day

2 – open the Umbrella before reaching your lock or Apartment, allow the hiding Souls or Entities to leave the Umbrella

3 – tied the Umbrella with a Red-string before bringing it into the House, but remember, not to un-tie the Red-string in the House, cos the Red-string is used to trap the Souls or Entities in the Umbrella.

Only un-tie it while one self is outside the House

C – Avoid bringing any Old-statues or Furnitures into the House before any form of Cleansing is being done onto the Objects.

A lot of people might have the habits of collecting Old Statues or Furnitures, usually this is the main cause of bringing extra-friends back home without noticing.

So for those who really want to bring Old Statues back home, do try to bring the Statues to a Master ir Priest to allow them to perform the Cleansing before bringing home.

For bigger size objects, then try to allow the bigger objects to get enough Sun-bath before moving them indoor.

For those urgent cases, one self can prepare Pomelo-leaves with 5-color Flower water. After preparing them, washed the objects before moving them indoor.

Once the objects are being moved indoor, light some Good Quality Incenses under the objects to allow Fume or Fire Cleansing.

  3. Hi Shifu,
    1. my parents have un-enhanced statue on north-east. Do you have any advice to clean up? My parents are laymen.
    2. Is it ok to place small water-fountain (like the one used in fengshui) in NE or SW sector?

    Thank you in advance.

    Warm regards,

  4. 1) For the moment, retrieve them down, clean it with the Taoist Holy Water and then wrap up with Red paper and keep it.

    2) Place a Yellow Stone/Crystal on the 2 directions to block the un-necessary energies.

  5. Hi Shifu, if we still have no yellow stones/crystals, can we hang Bagua Mirror (Convex) on the door/windows facing NE and SW? In Fengshui Bagua Mirror can destroy sha qi as far as I know. Fengshui is founded by Daoism as well?
    Thank you in advance. *bow*

    Warm regards,
    Yang

  6. Hi Yang,

No, such Ba Gua can only be hung outside a House not inside.

If dont have, get Five Emperor Coins to hang at the position.

  7. Hi Jave,

Are there also other things we can do for in the NE and SW besides the crystals and coins?

I have heard of something of closing the Gui Men/NE espcially when it may cause problems. Is this true?
Can it be that some people or houses have more problems with the Gui Men and the other Gate than others because of the things what did happen or something like that?

A medium once told me that in the SW of my house in the corner just outside my window a baby was buried or buried alive (According to him the mother could not keep the baby) a 100 years ago or more.(At that time it was clear open ground only grasses)He could hear the baby cry.
His advice was to have flowers in this corner.

Would this event have created even more disturbance in the SW gate than normal?
Can this also have an affect on our health. The SW always give me a strange feeling even the NE but not a bad bad or scary feeling but strange.

  8. Hi od127,

Gui Men is Gui Men, no one can close it, neither any form of Ritual/Ceremony can change it, by placing Crystals & Gems is to block of the excess Negative Energies only.

As for words of Mediums, I wont like to comment much. Maybe you can try it. Cos Flowers got many types and which type is the best for such Event, did they gave you the instruction?

  9. Hi Jave,

He did not go in many details only to have flowers in that corner and that the SW need to be clean and open.

I haven't put any flowers in that corner inside because i have Lavender Plants in hte outside in that corner
i thought that would be enough.

  10. Anyway, do not worry too much. All these are natural, the more you do it, the more issues you will encounter.

  11. Hi Jave and od127,

  12. Hey Jave and Yang,

Ok,i just let it be.Thanks Jave

Maybe what the medium got through was an echo what had happen in the past not necesserily a wandering soul......but i don't know its possible.

  13. Once we know how the Spirit & Soul Theory works in Taoism Context, we will know of how the Souls will be. Especially for such 100yrs old Soul.

This is why, for us, we dont react too much to it.

  14. Hi Jave,

Does having a Luo Pan in the NE/SW have the same effect as the Five Emperor Coins or crystals,to neutralize or block the energies coming from the Gui/Ren Men-NE/SW ?
I have a small golden/metal plate Luo Pan(without the red base)with the Hou Tian Ba Gua on it.
Does it have the same effect when i put it in my house in the NE/SW?

    Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Usually we dont anyhow place a Luo Pan in the House. So try not to use it un-necessarily.

  16. Is it because of the symbols and ba gua on it?
So if we want to use it for blocking, etc, other than using it for FengShui then better outside?

Also,If you have an umbrella or an asian kind of umbrella and its always close can tie a red paper string on it,even if i have it for quite a while.
I have been told that an umbrella should not be put in the storeroom and the handle should be put up standing.
Is this true?I have an old Indonesian umbrella.

  17. Not bcos of the Ba Gua, but the overall energy.

Yesm u need to tie it with a string or red paper.

  18. Hi Shifu, I have question about NE and SW direction.
    1. There is a photo of my pass-on grandma in the center area of the house (only photo and no altar). The photo is facing SW. Is that not ok? Please give advice, which direction is the best for pic of pass-on ancestor.
    2. Placing/pasting Protection Talisman of a deity (e.g. Guang Ze) on the door/window that faces NE and SW can also block the negative energy from those directions?

    Thx in advance.

    Best regards,

    ReplyDelete
  19. If ur grandma's photo is facing SW, meaning that the pic is sitting on NE. From here, you shall know whether is it ok.

Secondly, if the Talismans are not strong enough, you are just inviting more issues.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Hi Shifu, I had mistaken that "sitting" means the mapping of fengshui areas in a house. But it seems in daoism the facing direction the most important factor.
    1. Is it OK if home deities altar facing SW or NE? Note: the deity statues are already enhanced.
    2. Talisman of WHICH DEITIES are strong enough against negative energy from SW and NE?

    Thx in advance.

    Best regards,

    ReplyDelete
  21. 1) Deities can only sit on South or North Directions, other than that, no other Directions.

    2) No Deities.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Hi Shifu, if the house has the direction North, South, East and West at its corners (means the house sits on NW and facing SE), how to place the altar? also at corner (like alphabet "L" or triangle)?
It will be impossible to place picture of deities (San Qing, Taisui and Xuan Tian) to get facing N or S, but placing statues is still ok.
Please give me some advices. Thx in advance.

    Warm regards,

  23. For this case, you will need someone to be at ur place to do checking on the whole energy field before placing the statues or scrolls.
