For my experiences, i am not agree with what they have done for the above eye opening ceremony. They should not use the same cloth to wash their face and then use it to wash the deity face.
My relative had pay a visit to China Long Hu Shan Tian Shi Fu last year and he was quite disappointed. Because he found that there no longer a place for true taoist religous sanctuary but already became a place for commercial business. Is it true?
Yes, almost All the Taoist Monastries in China are turning into a Commercial Place, such as those Temples that Singaporean went over to carry back the Lineage Urn aka Xiang Huo (香火). 10 out of 10 Official Taoists get really disappointed by all the actions and events that occured during their visiting.
Some more, now the Leading person in Tian Shi Fu is not Heavenly Master Zhang and so, alot of things went chaotic.
Sad to say, Taoism in China is meeting with big downfall.
As for this one, I cant comment much, cos this is a Very Traditional Way of conducting the Ritual of Dotting.
This type of action is just the same as using the Holy Blood from a Spiritual Person to ward off Negative Forces and bring in the Positive Energies.
This type of action not only can be seen in China, but in most of the Ancient Religions.
As a Priest myself, yes, I do not agree on that, but as what is being passed down by Heavenly Master, we can only accept. Just that, we try to avoid doing that.
