The Ninth Heaven Incense Formation (九天降聖香)


 

This is the Myth-saying Incenses.

Will only appear once in very very long period. The center long incenses tend to burn faster than the 2 at the sides. In taoism, this representing High Ranking Deities arriving.

And when this happen, oneself will need to offer 9 cups of tea & wine to usher in the Deities.

在道教之中﹐此等香形又稱九天降聖香﹐為九天聖真臨壇之象(中香比左右香短很多)。
觀之者﹐須以九樽清酒及香茗供之。不可怠慢。

    Hi Master, inside some Tong Shu, there are pictures of the 24 Incense Formations as in the website here http://www.ivantsoi.com/xiangpu/. Is it accurate to use these? According to the 24 Incense Formation, there are two pictures of the center incense burning faster than the two at the side and one is an inauspicious sign. How do we know whether it's an inauspicious omen or a sign of deities descending going by this? Thanks in advance.

    The Tong Shu one is only mend for Hong Kong (Northern China) to use, so for us, we dont use it.

    Will share more soon on the Southern Incenses Formation.

    Hi Sifu, today when i pray at home. I burn 12 pcs of joss stick. notice that 3 stick burn faster then the other 9 stick. the difference is about 2 inch. Does that mean there are deity came to my home too? can you advise me? I was surprise also first time..hehe

    dear zurich, may i know why you burn 12 incenses at the same time?

    are you inviting any form of deities to your house at that time?

    Hi Sifu, all the while I have been burning 12 joss stick. I not inviting any deities. I just follow my parent. Thanks:)

    I see.

    Cos in Taoism, using 12 Incenses means that it is very urgent that needed immediate attention from the Deities.

    oh ok, i see..cos i happen to see that the only three sticks burn faster then the other nine stick and the different is so much. so i thought it could have been deities come to my house visiting and blessing..it hard to tell also..

    9 Incenses got different meaning:

    1 - urgent matters that needed deities to take note
    2 - reporting to the different levels of deities in the 9 heavens
