甲午馬年關公磨刀日暨關平壽辰 Anniversary of Guan Gong’s Sharpening of Sabre & Guan Ping’s Birthday 2014

蒲月十三日(農曆五月)﹐普遍地會為關平太子(關公之子)舉行祝壽儀式﹐除此之外﹐也會紀念關公磨刀。

民間相信﹐在關公磨刀日這一天﹐上天一定會降雨﹐一是尊敬關公的忠勇﹐二是為關公磨刀時”添水”。

而一般作生意人﹐則會在此日舉行聖誕﹐答謝關公並將”關公聖刀符”請進住家或辦公室安奉﹐祈求生意興隆﹐小人遠離。

13^th Day of Lunar 5 Month is known as the Anniversary of Guan Gong’s Sharpening of Sabre (before he went to attend the Banquet Dinner, which later he had to defeat a few various famous Generals) & also, the Birthday Celebration of Guan Ping, the son of Guan Gong.

For Year 2014, it falls on 10 June, a Tuesday.

In Taoist Culture, on this Day, usually it will rain.

Reasons for the raining;

1 – Highest Respect to Guan Gong for his Braveness

2 – Adding Water to the Sharpening of the Sabre

For people who are doing businesses, on this Day, they will hold grand celebration or banquet to offer to Guan Gong, after then, the bosses will usher in a Big Talisman of Guan Gong’s Eliminated Invaders into the House or Office for honouring, this is to get Blessing from Guan Gong and also, to get rid of “Backstabbers” aka Xiao Ren.
