  5. In the interview, one important that all of you can keep in mind:

    要作有形小功德﹐不如誠行無形大功德。
    不求回報﹐只求他人受益。

  6. Finally got the answer for the "actual" weight of 1 Dou = 1.5Kg (this standard is fix after Han Dynasty, in Han Dynasty, 1 Dou can be less than or more than 1.5Kg). We are not able to give an accurate weightage for the Dou-measurement in Heavenly Master's era, luckily didnt give the wrong answer.. hee hee :P

  7. Dear All,

Just a quick summarize on the topics discussed today online, in case for those who have miss the program, here are the points that we touched on:

1 – Origin of the burning of paper:
    (A) Starting in Eastern Han Dynasty after Cai Lun invented paper. The burning of Paper started by Cai Lun’s Sister-in-law aka Hui Niang. The introducing of the burning of Paper was to bring in more business for her Paper-shop
    (B) After Emperor Tang Tai Zong had a dream of making his journey into the Nether World. In the Nether World, Tang Tai Zong saw the pity-ness of the suffering Souls, so after Tang Tai Zong returned back to the Mortal Realm, he recommended the Citizens to do Paper-burning for the Souls in-order to lessen their debts & sins
    (C) In Tang Dynasty, it was the Peak for burning of Paper

2 – Touch on the 2 Major Taoist Sects in Singapore
    (A) Zheng Yi
    (B) Quan Zhen – Long Men School

3 – The differences of Zheng Yi & Quan Zhen Priests
    (A) The appearance
    (B) The way we assist or perform cultivation

4 – The Benefits of organising 7th Month Celebration, such as Auction, Dinner, Entertainment, etc

5 – Touch on the Offerings that can be seen during 7th Month Celebration, such as Salt, Rice & Sugar

6 – Encouraging of using the Money for buying Paper Offerings to buy Rice for the Poor and also, to use the Money for Charity rather than “Burning” the Money in “Fire”

7 – Heavenly Master founded Zheng Yi Sect (formerly known as Five Peck/Bushel Sect) in Eastern Han Dynasty, before Zheng Yi Sect was founded, Taoism is known as Teaching of Tao by Lao Zi

8 – Who are San Qing? The Highest Ranking Deities in Taoism.

9 – How heavy is 1 Peck/Bushel? This is the topic that many of us were stucked? Cos during the discussion, we got a few answers, but during the questioning, we rather keep quiet, cos in Han Dynasty Weightage System and Modern Weightage System (now is 1.5Kg), there are some differences

And a lot more (minor discussions).
