Ancient Chinese Board Game - Sheng Guan Tu (中國傳統游戲-陞官圖)

In the picture below is an Ancient Chinese Board Game known as Sheng Guan Tu (陞官圖), translated as Ranking-promoting Diagram.

As you can see, the whole Board Game does have a similar look of Monopoly aka Millionaire Game that we play nowadays. For Chinese, this Game will only be played during Celebrations, Festivals or while Gatherings.

In the Sheng Guan Tu, each of the small square boxes represent a Ranking in the Imperial System. The whole Game starts with a Normal Commoner (白丁) and end with the Position of Grand-Premier (太師).

According to record, this Board Game was created in Tang Dynasty (唐朝) and in Ming Dynasty (明朝), some changes had made to the Layout and the last changes will made in 20s-30s (民初).

But now, due to youngesters found that this is an Old Fashion Board Game, no one really wanted to play with it, so now, the Elders had fear of such Game will be gone in no time.

  5. For making the Board, you must choose a Dynasty out of these 3 Dynasties (Tang, Song & Ming).

Then from there, we will draw the Board accordingly to the Rankings that these 3 Dynasties have.

Maybe you can start to plan on that :P
