The Chinese Physician Deities (Series 1) - Hua Tuo (醫神系列之華佗)

Hua Tuo (華佗), born in AD110 (some recorded as AD141), 18th Day of Lunar 4 Month (生于農曆四月十八日), Easter Han Dynasty (東漢), during the Three Kingdom Period (三國時期).

Sincere young, Hua Tuo had being into study/researches of Chinese Medication & Physician Skills. Due to his passion in learning the different Medication Skills, he gave up chances of becoming high rank Officer in the Imperial Court (棄官從醫).

After several experiments and testing on his Skills, he successfully invented a set of skill in handling pregnancy cases 婦產科 (such as baby died in the womb, operation of getting out lumps in bodies, etc – which later became Western Gynaecology).

In-order for him to carry out his operation successfully (surgical cases, etc), Hua Tuo was the first Chinese Physician in our Chinese History who invented the skills of Anaesthesia 麻醉 (which later, about 1600 years later, the Western Medication Skill promoted/founded it by enhancing other methods).

Besides surgical skills, Hua Tuo also invented a set of so-called "Qi Gong Art (at that Era, Qi Gong had yet to be founded)" for those who had weak physical health to practice on. This set of Art was known as Wu Qin Xi 五禽戲 (was recorded as originated from the movements of the Five types of Animal) – such Art was invented to allow a constant blood flow in one physical body to decrease the rate of getting any illnesses and diseases. Till today, there are still a large number of people practicing it.

AD 207 (some said AD 203), due to Hua Tuo rejected Wei Wang Cao Cao’s (魏王曹操) order of returning to the Imperial Court to serve the Wei Kingdom, he was being killed by his order.

After his death, Hua Tuo was being respect as the Deity of Medication/Chinese Physician (醫神).

Every year, during Hua Tuo’s birthday, a lot of Chinese Physicians were paid their respect to Hua Tuo as a form of gratitude.
