Today (14 Aug 2009), the Manifestation Anniversary of Heavenly Lord Pu Hua, Vabien & I went to Wan Shou Shan Guan Yin Temple to pay respect to Heavenly Lord Pu Hua.
Upon reaching the Temple (about 11.00Am), noticed that the Temple was quiet & only the Temple Keepers were around, so we take our time to do the preparation & laying out of the Offerings.
At about 11.30Am, the Honouring started.
1st by Paying Respect to Jade Emperor of Heaven (玉皇大天尊) and then do a quick Report on the Event and also, request for Blessing for the Sufferings in South Taiwan. As you all can see in the Picture (No. bss_gyt_14082009_05), Vabien was doing the Recitation of Bao Gaos in-order to request for Blessing & Salvation for the Sufferings in South Taiwan.
After doing the Reporting, we proceed into the Temple to pay respect to the Main Deity, such as Jade Emperor of Heaven (No. bss_gyt_14082009_06), Cundi (準提佛母 (No. bss_gyt_14082009_05)), Lord Hua Guang (華光大帝 (No. bss_gyt_14082009_07)), Lord Wen & Wu (文武聖帝 (No. bss_gyt_14082009_08)), Madam Zhu Sheng (註生娘娘 (No. bss_gyt_14082009_09)), Lord of Sun (太陽星君 (No. bss_gyt_14082009_10)), Lord of Moon (太陰星君 (No. bss_gyt_14082009_11)), Empress Long Mu (龍母娘娘 (No. bss_gyt_14082009_14)), Ma Zu (媽祖 (No. bss_gyt_14082009_13)) & last, Pu Hua Tian Zun (普化天尊 (No. bss_gyt_14082009_17)).
After Honouring Pu Hua Tian Zun, then we proceed outside the Temple to honour Fu De Zheng Shen (福德正神 (No. bss_gyt_14082009_15)) & Tiger Deity (虎神 (No. bss_gyt_14082009_16)).
Last, returning back to the Rear Hall to pay our respect to the few Founders of the Temples in Telok Blangah Height ((No. bss_gyt_14082009_19 - 20)).
Upon the completion of 3 round of Offering Incenses, we proceed to the Sending Off of the Paper Offerings. During the Sending Off of Paper Offerings, again, Vabien encountered some interesting Miracle, for this, maybe I will leave it to him to do a write up in his Multiply Web soon.
During the Sending Off of the Papers, suddenly the Sky started to change. As you all can see in the Pictures ((No. bss_gyt_14082009_24 - 25)), the Cloud started to gather on top of the Temple, turning the Sky above the Temple into Yin & Yang.
During the intervals of the 3 rounds of Offering Incenses, I went around the Temple to take some Pictures. Shockly found that, the Seven Dipper Lamps were being taken good care, really happy to see that the Seven Dipper Lamps shined so Brightly in the Temple ((No. bss_gyt_14082009_21)).

err i thot this one is 紫薇大帝? i asked the temple keeper b4..
ReplyDeleteWhat does seven dipper lamp shining to do with the temple? Is it will affect the temple luck?
ReplyDeleteWho is Long Mu niang niang? Is't mother of Dragon king???
ReplyDeleteHahaha, shall be Yu Di.
ReplyDeleteCantonese does not use this as Zi Wei Da Di. They have another form for him.
This is mend for requesting for Longevity for Devotees and also to increase the Blessing for the Temple.
ReplyDeleteThis is why, old temples do not allowed people to touch the Dipper Lamps un-necessarily.
Some will considered Long Mu as the Mother, but as Wife.
ReplyDeleteBut Long Mu is one of the few Rare Female Deities that being honoured by Taoists.
She is also one of the Deities that in-charge of providing Baby-blessing.
I saw some temple allow devotees to hang their prayers at dipper lamps..i saw before tang kah beo have such service.
ReplyDeleteIs it to enhance the devotees luck?
but yu di placed on the right hand side of the set of three deities? abit sala rite. guan yin tang is cantonese temple?
ReplyDeleteNo choice, cos the Temple is half buddhist half folks taoist, not very particular into the Taoist Practises, slowly some Taoists from my side will be assisting them to do some necessary changes.
ReplyDeleteTo be more accurate, shall be Hainanese & Teochew. But now, most of them in the Temple are Cantonese.
Tang Gah Beo is now being operate by Buddhist Followers, so I'm not sure what they are up too.
ReplyDeleteis this ..文武聖帝? thanks
ReplyDeletesorry, may i know what is 文武聖帝 role??thanks, sifu.......i know this is 文武聖帝 as you have quoted earlier,
ReplyDeleteWen Wu Sheng Di are refering to Wen Chang & Guan Gong.
ReplyDeleteThe Teochew/Cantonese will approached for Academic Blessing.
