Visiting Temples at End of Lunar Year (歲末過廟祈好運)

A Year (Lunar) is about to end and its also the Period for Oneself or the Whole Family to visit Temples to requesting for Blessings & Eliminating of excess Negative Issues before the New Lunar Year arrives.

Usually for Cultivating Taoists, we will try to visit at least 40-50 Temples when the Calendar hits Lunar 11 Month. In order to make the Visiting a successful one, we will tend to do necessary & careful planning for the Visiting, such as a Week to visit 3-5 Temples, etc.

Once the Planning is done, we will try to follow the Planned Schedule as closely as possible as not to jeopardize the whole Visiting.

What are the Main Purposes of such Visiting?

1 to Thank any Deity that has provide the necessary Blessing for Oneself/Family for the past 12 Months

2 to Show Sincerity & Patience while performing the necessary Honouring (to visit 40-50 Temples is not an Easy Task, in order to complete the whole Visiting, Faithfulness & Patience are involved. This is a very good Training for Self Attitude & Emotion-control)

3 to Eliminate excess Negative Issues/Energies that being residue on Oneself/Family’s physical body. For those who tend to visit some Un-official Religious Premises, sometime, certain Negative Energies will tend to “stuck” or “attached” to Oneself, so by visiting Temples, hoping that the Negative Energies will be removed and new Blessing will be bestowed upon Oneself before a New Lunar Year arrives

4 to do Training for Cultivating Taoists. By performing such Visiting, those who are under Training can perform Self Sensitiveness Training for their Taoist Cultivation. This type of Visiting will somehow add on the Positive Sensitiveness to Oneself.

So what is the Best Timing to do the Visiting?

For those who are Free, you may want to visit the Temples in the Early Morning after 9.00Am.

For those who are working, you can choose Temples that open till late Evening.

So what to bring along with the Visiting/Paying Respect?

Actually no need to bring anything, as long as when Oneself/Family reached the Temple, just buy the Offering set from the Temple-keeper and start to the honouring.

By buying the Offering set, it will assist the Temples to get the necessary income and also, it can be treated as form of Credit Contribution.

Anything to request?

Not necessary to request anything, but if Oneself/Family wishes to do particular requesting for the New Lunar Year, it can be done.

Remember not to do any un-necessary or Non-realistic Requests.

What to do after the Visiting?

I will advised people to do their own recording on the Temples that they have visited, so in the future, Oneself can track back on which Temples that they have visited and also, when people will to ask for help of which Temple provide what services, they are able to direct them to the particular Temple for Spiritual Assistance.

This not only Contribute in bringing people to the Temple but also, in someway, serving our Deities in our Taoism.
