  2. Hi Jave,
It seems to me that I've never seen a Deity with such a big mustache and beard... What's in his hands ? A fan ?
    Thank you.

  3. Hahaha, thats bushy :P

Thats a Reporting Tablet, usually only high rank Deity will hold onto it.

  4. Merci :-)

Is there any similarity with the ivory tablet that the Mandarins were holding in their hands ?
Is there something written on this 'Reporting Tablet' ?

  5. Ivory, Jade or wooden are being used during the Ancient Era for Officers during the meeting with Emperors.

Some Officers will write the things that they wanted to report to the Emperor on the Tablet, in-order not to miss out anything while the Officer doing his reporting,

  6. Another little point Jave : this Tablet had to be hold only with both hands and never with only one hand ?

  7. with both hand, never with one hand while doing reporting, cos that consider as dis-respect.

  8. Thank you Jave !! I am curious about Mandarins and about this Tablet since a long time. Your replies are very helpful. I wish I could see a real Tablet in an Asian Museum soon...
    Have a good evening,
    Liu

  11. Jave, is the left hand infront or at the back?
Is there any theory why is it like that?

    ReplyDelete
  12. Left hand is always on the outward position, this is to represent Yang come first and then Yin.

Left, the Authority and representing taking the order from Heaven to perform certain tasks.
