Yesterday, the 7th Day of Lunar 3 Month (12 Apr 2008), was consider as the Day of Lord Bei Dou descending to the Mortal World to do inspection and also to perform the distribution of Blessings to the granted Mortals.

Again, me, my classmate from UK and 3 of my students (2 Registered and 1 on the list of next Registration) joined me for the Paying of Respect to Lord Bei Dou in Telok Blangah Tee Kong Temple.

Even though the rain was heavy, everyone seems to be very anxious and enthusiatic in doing the honouring, before 1100 Am, 3 of the students were there waiting for me and my classmate's arrival.

Upon arriving at the Telok Blangah, the rain got heavier and so, we had to hide inside one of the coffeeshop nearby to chit chat, etc.

In-order not to have any further delay in the honouring, we dediced to dash thru the rain to the Temple. By the time we reached the Temple, most of us were soaked, but, we still felt good and happy.

After placing the necessary items on the Altar that dedicated to Dou Mu Yuan Jun (斗姆元君), Jiu Huang Da Di (九皇大帝) and Nan Bei Dou Xing Jun (南北斗星君), we went round the Temple to pay respect to Heaven, Yu Huang Da Tian Zun (玉皇大天尊) and other Deities and last, to the altar of Dou Mu Yuan Jun.

Just before we start the Honouring, again, a Spark float infront of the Altar, due to its a very fade Spark, I'm not sure of how many people had saw that. Anyway, this is the signal from the Deities to announce to us that they were around to hear the requesting and received the Honouring.

After about 1 hour of honouring, it was time for us to send off the Incense-papers and so, the 3 students were being appointd to do the sending off, hoping that, by allowing them to do the sending-off, they will blessed with the Fortune and Wealth Luck.

Just after the sending off of the Incense-paper, the rain stopped. This really showed Good Sign on the Honourng and so, happily we proceeded to what we should do on that afternoon.

PS: Students of Philippine Long Shan Men also performed the Ritual to honour Dou Mu, Dou Fu (斗父) and Nan Bei Dou Xing Jun.

  1. Is this Telok Blangah temple the one just beside Holiday Inn Concorde Hotel (the former Glass Hotel) ?

I think my dad is a personal friend of the owner. (they were pri sch classmates).

My mother has strong faith in 2 temple, namely this jade Emperor Temple and Guan Yin Temple (waterloo street).

Jave, may I also know why are some temples consider more 'powerful and accurate' than the others? is it true or just a folk's belief?

  2. No, this one is located at Telok Blangah Height, beside Blk 45, the one you mentioned is located at Havelock Road.

Accurate due to the Age of the Temple. The Older the better.
