Pictures of Guang Ze Zun Wang (忠孝首屈廣澤尊王)

Guang Ze Zun Wang aka Guo Sheng Wang, in Chinese we address him as 廣澤尊王 or 郭聖王 or 聖王公. At some time, we also address him as 孝子公 (meaning Lord of Filial Piety).

He is one of the Hokkien Deities that Hokkien Clan still pay respect to (especially the Nan An Group).

In Singapore or S.E.A., Lord Guang Ze can consider as a common and popular Deity among the Chinese race.

  5. Bro, many of the statues i've seen of him holds his belt with his right hand much the same as the Wang Yehs, Is he considered a wang yeh too? In our altar we have the Wu Fu Wang Yeh and Guang Ze Zun Wang but in different altar tables.

  6. No, Guang Ze dont consider as Wang Ye neither the other Wang Ye can hold a title of Zun Wang.

Wang Ye, the origin you shall know, usually they are souls or human get killed and then being bestowed to become who n who, whereas Guang Ze is different from them. Guang Ze can consider as a born "immortal" and after cultivation, he got his enlightenment in some day some place and some time, etc..

If will to consider on the positioning of the altar, Guang Ze shall be place on-top of all Wang Ye, then follow by the Wang Ye.

  24. Hi Shifu, why Guang Ze Zun Wang (at least the most statues) don't put his both feet on the floor? (one is on the chair). Do you have the history of him? I have searched with keyword "guang ze zun wang", but I don't find any history. Thank you in advance.

    Best regards,
    Yang

  25. This is due to one of his legs was being pulled by his mother when you got his Immortal-hood (ascending into the Heaven). So from then, Taoists tend to make one of his leg bend up as to symbolise one leg longer and another shorter.

  26. During one of the celebration of Mazu birthday in my town, one of the possessed medium saw me and ordered me to cross the ping an jiao (safety bridge). Later when i asked the medium which deity that came to his body, he said Guang Ze Zun Wang. Sifu, is the spirit of Guang Ze Zun Wang really came to his body or something else? What is your opinion about this xia tong?

    ReplyDelete
  27. The Actual Deity wont possessed onto a Mortal's Physical Body, usually is only the Energy or a Cultivated Being that used the Name of the Deity to convey certain messages.

Usually it will depend on the Mortal whether to take the advises, if oneself is not comfortable with the advises, oneself can just ignore them. No harm or curse will be added on to oneself.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Is the cultivated being used the name of the deity with permission?

    ReplyDelete
  29. Not Really, some of such Beings are being summoned by the Mediums and so, some Mediums are using such Beings to make Money, so ALL of you must be Careful.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Thank you very much for reminding me about such dubious activity. In your experiences, do you came across any 'true' medium?

    ReplyDelete
  31. We cant use the Term True or False, this has to depend on the Cultivation of the Medium. If the Medium didnt go thru the Proper Training from an Official Master, usually we dont recognised them as Medium, or other case, such Mediums shall not be allowed to "operate".

    ReplyDelete
  32. if the medium had gone through the proper training, does that means that the energy or spirit that get hold of his or her body is the spirit of the deity concern?

    ReplyDelete
  33. So, the conclusion is trust no medium.

    ReplyDelete
  34. This depends on Individual.

But in Official Taoism, we need to do Self Cultivation, without Cultivation, Oneself is just a Blind-sheep that Blindly Follow the Group. So do be aware.
