Ancient Bronze Army Commanding Block (金朝"發兵符")

A Bronze Pendant with Spiritual Carvings on it.

This was found in China Hei Long Jiang in Year 1999. An Army-commanding Bronze Pendant that being used in Jin Dynasty (AD1115 - 1234).

As you all can see that one the Left-pendant, the Official Symbol of Taoism was being included (more intro here on the Symbol - http://javewutaoismplace.blogspot.sg/2009/05/introduction-on-taoist-symbol-fu.html).

Song Dynasty Heavenly Master Bronze Coin (宋朝年間張天師捉鬼銅錢)

宋朝年間張天師捉鬼銅錢。
正面(前)為天師捉鬼。
背面(後)為十二生肖。
佩戴此錢能避邪消災。

In here, you all will be seeing a very special Bronze Coin of Song Dynasty.
On the Front-side of this Coin is Heavenly Master subduing the Wanderings.
And on the Rear-side is the 12 Lunar Zodiacs.
Keeping this Coin with oneself for Protection-of-being-invaded-by-Wanderings.

Introduction on Priestess Zhang Qi Ying (張天師之曾孫張琪瑛胤師)

In Taoism, Zhang Yu Lan (張玉蘭胤師) was the First Lady Priestess that was being known as Spiritual Maiden - Mother of Taoist Scriptures (道經之仙姆) and she was the Aunty of Priestess Zhang Qi Ying (張琪瑛之姑母).

Zhang Qi Ying (張琪瑛), the Great-granddaughter of Heavenly Master Zhang Dao Ling (張道陵天師), Granddaughter of the 2nd Generation Heavenly Master Zhang Heng (嗣師張衡天師之孫女) & 3rd Generation Heavenly Master Zhang Lu's daughter (系師張魯天師之女).

She was born in Late Han Dynasty, on 12th Day of Lunar 7 Month AD196 (建生於漢建安元年七月十二日) and her Attaining Immortality Anniversary was on 20th Day of Lunar 3 Month AD 217 (飛昇於漢建安二十二年三月二十日).

Since young, Zhang Qi Ying was deeply influenced by her Aunty Zhang Yu Lan and so, she tried her best to memorize all Scriptures, Incantations and Spiritual Records, that being passed down by her Ancestors and other Spiritual Sages.

At the age of 16, she was being arranged a marriage by her Father Zhang Lu to General Ma Chao (其父張魯將之配婚與馬超大將).

Soon after the marriage, Ma Chao was killed in a Battle and pitying Qi Ying that she was still young, Zhang Lu arranged for another marriage for her with Cao Yu (曹宇), the Son of Cao Cao (曹操與環夫人之子), but due to Qi Ying hated Cao Cao for his rebellious, she refused to marry to the Son and so, she left her family and wandered around to spread the teaching of Zheng Yi Sect.

One day, while she pass-by Han Zhong City Mian County (漢中市勉縣), she found that this piece of land was special and so, she decided to stay in this area for long and hopefully she can promote Taoism to more people in here.

After years of non-stop promoting of Taoism, one night, Qi Ying saw her Aunty Zhang Yu Lan appeared in here dream, advising her that, her time is up for Returning to the Celestial Realm (其姑母張玉蘭出現於夢中﹐提醒琪瑛該歸為之時已到).

Upon hearing that, Zhang Qi Ying was delighted and she followed her Aunty – walking on a Path which was formed by colourful clouds and soon, she disappeared into the air (隨著姑母張玉蘭踏上七彩祥雲﹐徐徐飛昇入闕).

On that day, it was 20th Day of Lunar 3 Month (此時正是漢建安二十二年三月二十日) and she was only 22 Years old (享年二十二歲).

Due to her Sincerity, Compassionate and Determination, she was very well respected by the villagers and after she attained her Immortality, the villager built a nice Tomb and a Temple dedicated to her (因受勉縣人民愛戴﹐因此在琪瑛得道之後﹐該人民為其修墳立祠).

Today, in China Xia Xi Province, Han Zhong City Mian County Wen Quan Town Guang Ming Village (陜西省漢中市勉縣東南溫泉鎮光明村), Zhang Qi Ying's tomb can still be seen and a Temple known as Nv Lang Temple (女郎祠/女郎廟) was just beside her tomb.See More

而在道教科儀及道法文化中﹐《祈雨符》更是多不勝數。

與此分享的是其中一張 - "祈雨滅火符"。

In Taoism, we have quite a number of Talismans that are associated with the Requesting of Rain (of different purposes).

 In here, you all will see the Requesting of Rain Talisman mend for "Putting Out of Fire".

 In order to boost the energy of this Talisman to Max-power, a few Incantations had to be recited and a Heavenly Marshal needed to be evoked for the enhancing.

 Not only that, after the issuing of this Talisman, a Prediction needed to be made, in-order to know when the Rain will arrive and what will happen after the Rain-pour.

Manifestation Anniversary of Heavenly Master Zhang Dao Ling 2013 (癸巳蛇年正一祖天師聖誕吉慶)

Its again the arrival of the important Day for ALL Taoists to honour our Founder of Taoism – Heavenly Master Zhang Dao Ling (正一張祖天師).

On the 18th Day of Luna...r 5 Month (農曆五月十八日), it is considered as another Manifestation Anniversary for Heavenly Master Zhang (some contexts dated as 15th Day of Lunar 1 Month 又記載農曆正月十五日).

This Year, 2013, it falls on 25 June, a Tuesday.

On this Day, as usual, the Taoists will visit Temples that dedicate Altars to Heavenly Master Zhang to pay their respect, besides that, in other Countries in Asia; Grand & Official Ceremonies/Rituals will be conducted dedicating to Heavenly Master for the Credits of Founding Taoism and the Promoting of the Upright Teaching of Zheng Yi Sect (正一天師道).

Manifestation Anniversary of Guan Ping 2013 (癸巳蛇年關平生辰吉慶及關公磨刀日)

Duke Guan Yu aka Guan Gong in Folks Context, a Real Historical Character during the Three Kingdom Period. Till today, a lot of Non-Taoist Religions are fighting for the “owners...hip” of Guan Gong, which make it ridiculous and complicated. Even though this is so, Guan Gong will still provide the necessary Blessing for All Taoists.

Due to a lot of mis-concept and mis-interpretation, a lot of Folks Culture and other Non-Taoist Religions tend to celebrate Guan Gong’s Birthday on the 13th Day of Lunar 5 Month, which is not accurate or Unrealistic.

According to History Records from various Contexts, Guan Gong’s Birthday was being recorded as 24th Day of Lunar 6 Month. Whereas, 13th Day of Lunar 5 Month shall be the Anniversary where Duke Guan Yu Sharpen his Sabre for the defeating of his Enemies and in Chinese Tradition, on this Day, while honouring of Duke Guan Yu, Wealth Blessing will be bestowed for those who are in Trading-line or Doing Businesses.

Besides that, 13th Day of Lunar 5 Month shall be the Birthday of Guan Ping, which is known as the Son of Duke Guan Yu.

For Year 2013, 13th Day of Lunar 5 Month falls on 20 June, a Thursday.

Taoist Poem for Duan Yang Festival (端陽天師除邪詩)

Dear All,

In here is a Taoist Poem dedicated to Heavenly Master Zhang Dao Ling (正一張祖道陵天師), for Duan Yang aka Duan Wu Festival (端陽/端午節).

Due to many people only promote the first 4 phrases of this poem and neglected the last 4 phrases, in here, Jave will share the full Poem to all on this Special Day (通常﹐多數人只分享此詩之前四句而忽略了後四句。與此﹐小道將完整的<慶端陽>詩﹐與各方同道分享).

Duan Wu Positive Water Fetching (端陽午時水)

端陽午時水

又是一年一度提取端陽午時水的時候了。
諸位同道請記得哦﹐一定要在午時三刻(11:45AM)取水﹐此刻就是該日陽氣最重之時。
取午時水最好是” 無根”之水﹐即”流動之活水”﹐可向井中取得。
於井中所取得的端陽午時水稱之為”地龍水”。
如若在端陽當天午時下雨﹐那就更好了。
那就是真正的”無根”之水﹐又稱之為”天龍水”。
兩水取得之後﹐可入藥作為懸葫濟世之用。
如若習法之人﹐便可用此二水入墨書符或提煉”清淨之水”﹐無不有效。

Wu Shi Shui, translated as The Yang Energy Water of Duan Yang Day (Duan Wu Day).

This Water must be collected at 11:45Am (during Day time – applies to the Western Countries), where the Yang aka Positive Energy is the strongest. Besides that, this Water must be collected from a “Living” source, meaning the Water must be Flowing or Non-stop-providing; such sources can be from Water-well or Streams.

From Water-well or Streams, the Water collected is known as “Earth Dragon Water” and if, on Duan Yang Day, it rains, the Water collected will be the Best. This Water will be known as “Heavenly Dragon Water”.

Upon collecting all these Water, it can be used to brew herbs for Curing Diseases and for those who are practising Spiritual Skills, it can be used to mix-with-ink for Talismans’ writing or for the making of “Purely Cleansing Water”.

In here, you all will be watching a short video on the Taiwanese Hokkien Opera, performed by Taiwan famous Ye Qing Opera Troupe (台灣葉青歌仔戲團所呈現) - The Story of Madam White Snake (Celebrating Duan Wu Festival 葉青歌仔戲之白蛇傳-慶端陽).

In the video, the traditional practises of Duan Wu were being mentioned and also, see how Madam White Snake transformed back to her original form after consuming the Xiong Huang Wine (雄黃酒).

In here, you all will be seeing a few Talismans (民間所用之端午除煞解瘟符) that being used by the Taoists, Chinese & Folks, during Duan Wu Festival, to ward off Negative Entities/Energies & the Five Poisons aka Wu Du (五毒).

Due to modernization, now we hardly see such Talismans being hung outside houses on Duan Wu Festival, together with the "Herbal Sword (草劍)".
