Overall In-charge Deity of Wealth Descending Day for Yi Wei Goat Year 2015

On the 5th Day of Lunar 1st Month (農曆正月初五日為道教正統接財神之日), also known as Ge Kai Day (也稱為隔開日) or means that the Day to Retrieve or Remove the Lunar New Year Offerings from the Deities Altar.

For Year 2015, it falls on 23 Feb, a Monday.

And besides that, in Taoist & Chinese Culture, it is also known as the Descending Day or the Reporting Day for the Overall-In-charge Deity of Wealth to the Mortal Realm to Inspect and also to distribute the necessary Wealth Blessing for the Mortals for the next 12 Lunar Months.

上供春飯迎新春 Spring Rice Preparation

在準備春飯(飯春)時﹐幾項事宜須注意﹐一切如下﹕

While Preparing the Spring Rice, there are a few steps to be aware of;

1 – 飯熟後﹐不能攪拌﹐只能取最上層的熟米飯作為春飯﹐取意﹕人上人。(圖01)

After the Rice is cooked, only scooped the Top Layer to make Spring Rice (Pic 01)

2 – 飯入碗﹐不可擠壓﹐只能輕輕鋪開以便飯粒顆顆分明﹐取意﹕明是非。(圖02)

Using a Clean Bowl to make Spring Rice, never push the Rice hard into the Bowl (Pic 02)

3 – 飯落外﹐不可丟棄﹐只能自己吃掉避免浪費寶貴食物﹐取意﹕懂珍惜。(圖02)

If any rice will to drop out, have to consume it and not to waste it.

4 – 飯添花﹐不可傾斜﹐只能將春花插正以示人正福有春﹐取意﹕添錦花。(圖03)

After placing the rice into the Bowl, place the Spring Flower first and remember to put it straight-up and not bent (Pic 03)

5 – 飯加棗﹐不可隱藏﹐只能將紅棗對乘放入春化左右邊﹐取意﹕早得貴。(圖04)

Only after placing the Spring Flower, then add in Red Dates. Do not press the Dates into the rice, allowed at least half the Dates to be seen (Pic 04)

6 – 飯上供﹐不可冷卻﹐只能乘燙熱之時與吉紅一起上供﹐取意﹕紅利豐。(圖05.1/.2)

After the Spring Rice is ready to place on the Altar, it must be presented to the Deities together with Ji-hong, a type of Traditional soft-candles (Pic 5.1/5.2)

在除夕當天﹐也請記得在下午未時前舉行辭歲哦。

有祭祀祖先的同道好友們﹐記得在除夕當天下午5點前完成。

新春萬象添新意。
百花齊放多福氣。
甲午舊年換新禧。
乙未富足官祿晉。

Ci Sui literally known as the Bidding Farewell to the Old Lunar Year while preparing for the Ushering in of the New Lunar Year and usually this is conducted on the Eve of Lunar New Year.

Besides Bidding Farewell to the Old Lunar Year, this is also the Final Round to Thank the Deities and to show our Gratitude to them for the Blessing for the Old Lunar Year and make new Request for the necessary Blessing for the upcoming Lunar New Year.
