Hong Bao River 2012 (春到河畔迎新春)

Every Year on the 2nd Day of Lunar 1st Month, it was the Routine for the whole of our Family to visit Hong Bao River (春到河畔), taking place at the Floating Platform at Marina Bay.

As usual, this Year, after visiting Jave's 1st Aunt & 5th Uncle, we headed down to Hong Bao River 2012 at about 6.30Pm.

Upon arrival, we were shocked by the view of at least a few odd thousands of People crowded at the Floating Platform, busily engaged in any form of activities.

It was another fruitful and wonderful night.

PS: So coincidence that this Year, Hong Bao River 2012, also "invited" Heavenly Marshal Zhao Gong Ming (督財總管趙公明天君) to be the "Leading Deity of Wealth" for Singapore

Category:Other

Dear All,

After Dong Zhi (冬至) aka Winter Solstice of Year 2011, all Paying of Gratitude to Lord Tai Sui of Xin Mao Year (辛卯年太歲) will end (for those who miss this, usually will do it before 16th Day of Lunar 12 Month of Xin Mao Year or the Day of Thanksgiving Ceremony 答謝神恩 or before 24th Day of Lunar 12 Month).

And after sending off of Deities on the 24th Day of Lunar 12 Month of Xin Mao Year (辛卯年), all those who got the Effect of Conflict with Lord Tai Sui of Xin Mao Year (辛卯年), can prepared to pay their respect to Lord Tai Sui of Ren Chen Year - known as General Peng Tai (彭泰).

So when is the Best timing or Accurate Day to pay respect to General Fan Ning?

According to Chinese Custom & Taoist Practice Records, the Best & Accurate Day to pay respect to a the Lord Tai Sui of the New Lunar Year starts on Li Chun Day (立春) - which means that, the Initial Starts of the Spring Season (a lot of people may think that the 1st Day of Lunar 1 Month is the start of a New Lunar Year, but actually is not, if we are to go according to the Old Ancient Calendar, Li Chun shall be the actual day of the arrival of Spring Season).

So when is Li Chun Day for Xin Mao Year?

Li Chun Day for Ren Chen Year falls on 13th Day of Lunar 1 Month, 04 Feb 2012, after 18:40hr (Rooster Hour 酉時).

Singapore Chinatown Light-up for Lunar New Year 2012 (新加坡牛車水新春亮燈儀式2012)

On the 1st Jan Evening, LSM Members and family had visited Singapore Chinatown to "witness" the Light-up of Chinatown for the upcoming Lunar New Year of Ren Chen Year (壬辰年).

This practise had been observed by LSM for many years and of cos, this was again another enjoyable trip.

Just while we were waiting for the Lights to be on and the Fireworks to start, we went around the whole Chinatown to look at the stalls and get the necessary goodies.

Besides Tooth-reclic Temple aka Fo Ya Shi (新加坡佛牙寺), we participate in the Charity Orange Tree. Anyone just needed to contribute a S$2.00, you will be able to get a "Fake Orange" with a Wishing Tag tagged onto it. After getting hold of the Orange and Tag, oneself can write Oneself's Name, etc and tick on the various wishes that Oneself wanted to make. Upon completion, just throw the Orange onto the Tree, the Higher the better.

For us, we bought 2 Oranges and will be back to get more when time to come.

After the Lights were on and the Fireworks ended, we continued our tour and at about 10.30Pm, we left Chinatown to proceed home for a good resting for the upcoming Rituals and Events.

Upon completion with the Reporting the Thanksgiving Ceremony began and everyone was advised to offer the long Incenses to the Deities and the chanting and Thanksgiving was conducted.

After about an hour’s chanting and Respect-honouring, the whole Thanksgiving Ceremony ended successfully and after a short chit-chat session, all of us left the Temple and Jerry & Family proceed to Tian Gong Temple (新加坡天公廟) to conduct their Thanksgiving whereas Royce, Vabien and Jave proceed with another meeting in Town.
