Hi folks,
Thanks to Alcanwee's (one of Taoism Yahoo Singapore's member) reminder, the Templing Team (Temple Research & Visiting Group) went to check out the events. When we arrived, it was pouring dogs and cats. We had to take refuge in the Chong Pang Combined Temple waiting for the rain to subside. When we finally went over to the Teochew Memorial, there was an impressive stage where a group of the Teochew Sian Tng Group was chanting to the accompaniment of the Teochew Orchestra.
We went up to the memorial to pay our respects and look around. Many people have contributed the dried food as part of the offerings and later these would be sent to the charities. There was a giant Da Shi Ye who will accompany the distribution of the food and joss papers to the souls, no longer (maybe) being prayed by their descendents. It was a great community programme by the Teochew Community.
