On the 22nd Day of Lunar 12 Month (農曆臘月廿二日), at He Bi Shan Temple, a simple but yet official Thanksgiving Ceremony was being conducted upon the request of the Tan Family.
At 10.30Am, Royce and Jave arrived at the Temple and upon arrival, most of the members were there to do the necessary set-up and preparation.
At about 11.30Am, once the Elder of the Tan Family arrived, the Thanksgiving Ceremony started.
With a short report to the Three Realms and the Main Deities of the Temple, the Ushering Ceremony was being conducted and with that, the Chanting commenced.
About 12.30Noon, the whole Ceremony completed and upon Sending Off of the Guest Deities, the Burning of the Paper Offerings was taken place.
By 1.30Pm, we left the Temple and headed to Pin Si Restaurant (品食酒樓), located at Yishun Safra, to have our Reunion Lunch.

On the 18th Day of Lunar 11 Month (農曆葭月十八日), it was the Anniversary of Duke Tan of He Bi Shan Temple (何碧山宮), in some contexts, Duke Tan was also known as Kai Zhang Sheng Wang aka Duke Kai Zhang (開漳聖王), which was the Ancestor Patron of the Tan Clan and Hokkien People (陳氏及福建籍貫之先祖).
On that Day, the Anniversary Honouring Respect was conducted in the Morning by Pu Ji Taoist Group (普濟道壇) and in the Afternoon, Jave arrived at the Temple with Heavenly Master Zhang Dao Ling (張祖天師) from Mt Long Hu Tian Shi Fu (龍虎山天師府) and after the Honouring of the Spiritual Armies (犒賞三軍), Jave was there to do the chanting dedicating to Heavenly Lord Tai Yi aka Salvation Lord (太乙救苦天尊).
On that very night, Lion Dance Performance was being engaged and after the Performance, it was time for Bro Kokhwa to send back the Immortal Red Boy (紅孩兒) back to the Opera Stage.
Next day, which was the 19th Day of Lunar 11 Month (農曆葭月十九日), another round of Rewarding of the Spiritual Armies was conducted and also, Chanting dedicated to Duke Tan was also being carried out.
At 9.45Pm, the sending off of the Guest Deities (恭送眾神) was being conducted and the whole Celebration marked an end after the burning off of the Paper Offerings.

2011 is the 4th Year that Jave had visited He Bi Shan Temple (新加坡何碧山宮) to honour Lord San Guan (三官大帝).
And for sure, it was Jave’s honour and pleasure to assist He Bi Shan Temple in all Events and Celebrations.
This Year, due to Jave was on Training Course, on the 15th & 16th Day, Royce had to represent Jave to conduct certain Taoist Rituals for this Celebration and on the 15th Evening, Jave and Mum had arrived at the Temple to pay our respect to Lord Shui Guan (水官大帝).
On the 16th Evening, the whole of LSM had participate in the Grand Dinner (千人宴) of He Bi Shan Temple and after the Dinner, a few of us left behind to conduct the Official Honouring dedicating to Lord San Guan of He Bi Shan Temple and as usual, Vabien and Royce made their 3 Kneelings and 9 Kowtows to the Deities (Million Thanks to Vabien and Royce for preparing the Offerings).
On the 17th Day, LSM had conducted the Taoist Chanting dedicated to Lord San Guan and also, the Sending of Shui Guan Spiritual Petition Ceremony (送水官手書儀式) while we sent off the Guest Deities.
It was an enjoyable day and many Spiritual Encounters occurred again.

On the Evening of the 7th Day of Lunar 9 Month (農曆菊月初七日), He Bi Shan Temple had conducted a Ritual on the Honouring of the Dipper Lords for the Devotees & Members.
At 6.30Pm, Jave arrived at the Temple to do the necessary preparation and by 7.00Pm, most of the Devotees and Members were there waiting for the Ritual to be conducted.
By 8.00Pm, upon the arrival of All Members, the Ritual started.
With the Ushering-in of the Deities, Reporting, Chanting of Bei Dou Scripture and the Burning of the 24 Talismans for the Eliminating of Sins & Debts, the Ritual ended successfully an hour later.

Dear All,
He Bi Shan Temple, located at Yishun Ring Road - opps to Blk 111, will be conducting a Great Honouring of Lord Bei Dou and Dou Mu on the 3rd Oct (Monday), timing starting at 7.00Pm.

On the 15th Day of Lunar 7 Month (辛卯年中元吉日), after conducting of the Honouring dedicated to Lord San Guan, it was time to reward the Spiritual Armies and Heavenly Generals that had evoked for the Protection of the Spiritual Premises.
With the Lead by the Founder of Nanyang Zhen Xuan Tai Yuan Sheng Dao Tan (南洋真玄太元聖道總發起人-陳炳森大哥) – Taoist Senior Chen Bing Sen and Royce Tan of Singapore Tong Shan Tang (新加坡童善堂), the Ceremony of the Rewarding of the Spiritual Armies was being conducted using the Lv Shan School’s Skill.
It’s a tiring session for both of them but the end result was wonderful. Must thank Royce for putting in the effort for the conducting of this Ceremony dedicating to the Spiritual Armies and Heavenly Generals of He Bi Shan Temple.

On the 15th Day of Lunar 7 Month (辛卯年中元吉日), after Jave had conducted the Cleansing and Enhancing of the Ritual Premises, Members of He Bi Shan Temple had conducted a Session of the Chanting of Qing Jing Jing dedicating to this Official Celebration.
With the Lead by the Founder of Nanyang Zhen Xuan Tai Yuan Sheng Dao Tan (南洋真玄太元聖道總壇發起人-陳炳森大哥) – Taoist Senior Chen Bing Sen, Founder of the Taoist Ritual Group of He Bi Shan Temple (何碧山宮道教科儀文化團發起人陳志成大哥) – Elder Bro Chee Seng and Leader of LSM – which is Jave, All the Members from the various Taoist Groups had chant the Qing Jing Jing.
This was a very unique and special chance for All to come along to the Chanting for after some period.
Soon, the groups will expand and we hope to see more Members join in for the next Chanting Session.

On the Evening of 13th Day of Lunar 7 Month (農曆巧月十三日), just before Jave conducted the Lighting of the 27 Spiritual Lamps to Open up the Spiritual Realm for the Suffering Souls to be released out, the Summoning of the Souls of different Families was being conducted.
Firstly, Jave conducted the Cleansing of the Pathway from the external compound into the internal compound of the Temple, followed by Enhancing the Pathway into a Spiritual Bridge that allowed the Souls to Cross the Boundary.
Thirdly, report to the Door Deities (侍廟門神), Earth Deities (此間土地) & City Deity (當境城隍) that were put In-charged to lead the Souls into the Temple compound and last, using the Summoning Souls’ Banner to lead the individual Soul into the Temple compound.
Upon successfully Summoned Soul, the Family Members/Descendant would used the Incenses to lead the way to their Respective Soul Tablet (魂帛) and after reaching the Soul Altar, the Family Members/Descendant had to call upon the Pass-ons to wash their Face & Hands using the Enhanced Water that being placed underneath the Soul Altar.
With about an hour’s of Conducting the Summoning of Souls, the whole Ceremony ended.

In the Morning of 14th Day of Lunar 7 Month, just before the Ritual officially commenced, Jave had conducted the Spiritual Tasks Allocation for Vabien, Ruihe & Royce, before they could Officially performed the Interaction with the Higher Level of Celestial Deities & Beings during the Salvation Ritual.
Firstly, by making a Report on whom were involved and how their Official Taoist Titles.
Secondly, by Sealing up their Physical Body (封身) with the Authorities from the Celestial Deities & Beings.
Thirdly, allowing the individual to report their own Origin Name, DOB & Residential Address of where they stayed to the Higher Authorities.
Lastly, by Enhancing of the Official Beads (朝珠) that each individual would be wearing during the Ritual. This Beads were there to represent their Ranking and also the Authorities that they held.
After the 3 of them had got their Enhancement & “Promotion”, it was the time for Jave to do reporting for my own.
At about 4.00Pm, just before the Salvation Ritual conducted by the 3 of them started, Jave had leaded them to go thru the 3 Celestial Palaces & 6 Official Departments (過三宮六府). After then, they were Officially being endorsed with the Authorities for the Salvation of any form of Beings.

After 2 Days of conducting the Salvation Ritual for the Pass-on Souls and Wanderings, finally it was the last Day to Return our Gratitude to the Celestial Beings/Deities & Immortals for the descending to the Mortal Realm to witness the whole Ceremony.
On the 15th Day of Lunar 7 Month, everyone arrived at the Temple before 10.00Am to participate in the Morning Honouring for the Celestial Deities (演淨科。諷誦早課奉諸真).
Just as Jave was making offering of the Flowers to San Qing, Yu Huang & San Guan, another Miracle appeared at the Main Altar outside the Temple. Everyone was shocked to saw it and immediately, the attention was given to the Miracle and photo-taking was busily taking place. Due to Jave was in the mid of the Honouring, so I couldn’t participate in the Miracle, so I could only be told after the Ritual ended.
Soon the Morning Honouring ended, by 11.00Am, everyone get ready to Chant the Qing Jing Jing for the Anniversary Celebration. The same People from the same Taoist Ritual Group gathered infront of the Main Altar and with a short reporting made by Jave, everyone started the Chanting (演經文。清靜妙經啟妙法).
With an hour of Chanting, it was time for everyone to fall-in to make our Ten Offerings to the Guest Deities. With Mass-request from the Audience, Jave had to conduct the most “Sweaty” Ten Offering Ritual for the Deities and the Devotees to see (行道儀。上敬獻供進天曹).
With the completion of the Ten Offering Ceremony, we told a short break and by 2.00Pm, we started the Chanting of the San Guan Scripture dedicated to San Guan Da Di (演經文。三元妙經奉三官). During the Chanting of the San Guan Scripture, the 3rd Miracle took place and this time round, most of the Temple Members and Devotees were there to encounter it.
By 3.00Pm, it was the Time for us to present our Spiritual Petition for the Eliminating of Sins & Debts for Lord Di Guan (中元地官赦罪三官手書). Just as we were about to send the Spiritual Petition to the Celestial Palace of San Guan, the Rain stopped and just nice, the Spiritual Petition was able to send safely to the Celestial Realm.
After returning from the Sending off of the Spiritual Petition and the Heavenly Reporting Officer (進表天官), we proceed with the Rewarding of the Spiritual Armies. This time round, Royce & Taoist Senior Bing Sen were there to conduct the Lv Shan Rewarding Armies Ceremony (閭山犒賞三軍儀式) for the Million & Millions of Spiritual Armies of He Bi Shan Temple (謝軍馬。犒賞大宴在壇前).
The whole of the Rewarding Ceremony took about an hour to complete and once the Rewarding Ceremony ended, it was time to “Reward” the Stomach of the Helpers and so, with an hour’s Break, the Sending Off of the Guest Deities Ceremony was being conducted at 6.30Pm (送諸真。回向三天並四府).
By 7.30Pm, the whole 7th Month Celebration ended and everyone was happy and delighted.
By 8.00Pm, we had a mini Gathering Dinner for All Helpers & Members before heading home to rest (感恩宴。禮謝各界大善德).
This time round, it was really a very very Successful Celebration that being conducted. Once again, a Great Thanks to He Bi Shan Temple’s Committee and Members for giving LSM a chance to conduct such a Grand Ritual at the Temple. 2ndly, must Thanks ALL the Members & Devotees that had participated in, to make this a Successful Celebration to be. 3rdly, must Thank Grand Master Lim for assisting in the Rituals & Issuing of the Talismans. And last, the Kitchen Team for preparing the Great Meals for everyone.

On the Evening of 13th Day of Lunar 7 Month (農曆巧月十三日), the 7th Month Ritual of He Bi Shan Temple officially commenced.
With the necessary preparation and assisting in the setting up, the whole Ritual/Ceremony was able to take place in time without any delay or hinders.
Before the Chanting and Salvaging for the Souls were able to take place, in Taoism, we needed to summoned the Souls to the Salvation Premises in-order for the Energies that being emitted out by the Arrival of the Deities and Chanting, to be enhanced onto the Individual Souls.
And so, Jave had to conduct the Lighting of the 27 Spiritual Lamps to Open up the Spiritual Realm for the Suffering Souls to be released out, in Folks Term known as Breaking Up the Hell Gate (俗稱破地獄).
With the Enhancing on the Lamps and the Lighting of the Leading Path Lamp (引路燈), the Recitation of the Opening of the Spiritual Realm was being recited and a few Hand Formations/Mudra were being “Punched” onto the Lamps and with the Knocking of the Summoning Souls’ Banner (召魂幡), the Souls were somehow being released from the Trapping Dimension.
With about an hour’s of Conducting the Opening of the Realm, the whole Ceremony ended.

At 6.30Pm, it was the Time for the Descendants & Family Members to send off the Souls back to the Source. It somehow had the sad feeling and bitter sensing in the atmosphere, but knowing that the Souls were be lead back to a Source that they wouldn’t be getting anymore sufferings, somehow it comforts them.
With the Descendants & Family Members carrying the Soul Tablets to pay respect to Lord Emperor Dong Yue (東嶽泰山大帝) – the Overall In-charge Deity for the Souls & Spiritual Coffer Money, the Souls were being lead to cross the Immortal Bridges (府天橋/朱陵府/開光橋) before the Sending-off.
While Jave, Vabien & Ruihe were there to lead the Souls to cross the Bridges, Taoist Senior Bing Sen (陳炳森道兄前輩) was there to assist the Descendants & Family Members to stack the Coffer Boxes in place in-order to allowed the Souls to collect their parcels easily in the other “Source”.
Before the Souls were being Sent Off, Bro Chee Seng was there to represent the whole of He Bi Shan Temple’s Committee and Members to offer Wine to the Souls and Bid Farewell with his Ancestors.
By walking 3 rounds around the Big Burning Urn, each of the Descendants & Family Members were to call out the Name of the Pass-on to collect their Belongings and once the Fire was being lighted, everyone would to stand a Big Round to secure the Burning from being invaded by the other Beings.
With satisfaction from All the People, the Sending Off was conducted successfully.
Just before everyone head home, each of them was being advised to Pull an Ancient Coin from the Tied Red String, this was an Old Traditional Practise of Disconnecting All the Negative Energies and dedicating Good Blessings to the Ancestors and also the Family Members (解結解冤慶結喜).
By 10.00Pm, we called it a Day and everyone headed home to rest and get ready for the Happy Occasion that took place on the 15th Day of Lunar 7 Month (巧月十五日中元喜典).

While Jave, Sis Shui Mei & Lipei were there conducting the Spiritual Healing for the Souls, on the Official Stage, Vabien, Ruihe & Royce were there conducting the First Round of Distribution of Offerings to the Souls and Wanderings (演晚課。宣經台上施食科).
This was the First Time for Vabien to conduct such a Grand Ritual after 3 Years and with extra effort of doing his Training and Self-practising, finally with the Approval from the Ancestors of LSM & Heavenly Lord Tai Yi, he was the chosen one to conduct the First Round of the Distribution of Offerings for this Grand Ritual (it’s a MUST for a Taoist Priest to conduct a Grand Salvation Ritual before he/she could address him/herself as an Official Trained Priest).
While Vabien was on the stage with the other Two Juniors, everyone under the Stage were giving them their Fullest Support. Whether Successful or Not, the Three of them were sure to get their best In-return from this special experience. Without Fail, the Three of them had made it a Successful one.
With the assistance of Uncle Tan, whom just got his Ordination from Mt Long Hu in China (中國龍虎山天師府), Vabien was able to lead the whole Salvation Group to the Peak of their Performance.
Soon, after Jave had completed the Spiritual Healing for the Souls and conducting the Communication for the Family Members with the Pass-ons, Jave took over Vabien’s place to conduct the Second Part of the Distribution of the Offerings for the Soul.
To round off the whole Distribution of the Offerings, Coins & Rice were being thrown down from the Stage for the Public & Devotees to grab. With successful grabbings, everyone was happy and delighted. With a few rounds of Loud Cheering, the whole Ritual Ended successfully.

At 3.00Pm, the Third Round of Ritual started.
This Third Round of Ritual was very special, cos this Ritual can said to be the First Time being conducted in Singapore.
With 49 Day of Non-stop Chanting, collecting of 100 types of Top Grade Chinese Herbs by Chinese Physicians Taoist Sis Shui Mei & Lipei and about 300 pieces of Taoist Medicine Talismans by Grand Master Lim (林老師傅), the Brewing of the Spiritual Herb could be taken place.
At 3.00Pm, we Chant on the Medication Scripture to usher in All the Chinese Physician Deities (演經懺。上清醫懺渡萬靈), followed by gaining their Permission and Approval before starting the Spiritual Fire to brew the Herbs.
After an hour’s of Chanting, the Final Round of Enhancing of the physical Herbs was done and when it was ready, the Spiritual Fire was being started and the Big Traditional Herbal Pots were being placed on the Charcoal for Brewing. One thing special about the Starting of the Charcoal was not by the Fire Starters, but with Taoist Talismans.
With the Pots being placed onto the Spiritual Fire, Grand Master Lim was there to assist in burning in the 300 pieces of Taoist Medicine Talismans into the Brewing Herbs and with 15 minutes of waiting, the Herbs was being brewed and the whole Tentage was being filled with the Fragrance of a very Mild Chinese Herbal smell. Everyone seems to get awake after sniffing in the nice Aroma.
With the assistance of Sis Shui Mei, the brewed Herbs was being scoop out and the Descendants of the various Pass-on Elders were being brought to the Altar of the various Heavenly Physicians (上清天醫院) to get their Treatment and the offering of the Chinese Herb Beverage.
After a round of Treatment to about 80 souls, the Leading of the Wandering Souls from the area were being led to get their Treatment.
With the completion of the Spiritual Treatment, the Pots & Charcoal Burners were being destroyed to symbolize that All the Souls had recovered from their previous Sicknesses and ready to proceed to the next destination – the Eastern Palace of Eternal Joyous (引靈治病往東極).
With about 1.5 hour’s of conducting this Ritual, it ended at about 5.30Pm. Soon after the Ritual ended, it was the time for the Descendants to communicate with the Pass-ons and then, sent them off to the Eastern Palace.

At 2.00Pm, as planned, the Second Round of Chanting started,jJust before the we get ready for the Chanting, a Miracle happened at the Tentage and almost All the People, Members and Devotees were shocked by it.
From the previous Chanting experience and the Miracle that we encountered, everyone got more confident and was ready to do more for the Suffering Souls. So with a very short preparation, we stepped out from the Office to the Main Chanting Compound for our Spiritual Task.
The Second Round of Chanting for the Souls was – The Elimination and Lessen of the Debts & Grudges of the Souls by Heavenly Lord Tai Yi (演經文。解冤妙經滌愁憂).
Due to this was a very Important Scripture for the Souls, so everyone put in extra Attention and Effort in making it a successful one.
With an hour’s Chanting, the Recitation of the Scripture was done.

After 49 Days of preparation and enhancing of the Spiritual Herbs for the Healing of the Suffering Souls, on 12 Aug 2011 – 13th Day of Lunar 7 Month (農曆巧月十三日), the 7th Month Ritual of He Bi Shan Temple commenced.
On the Evening of 13th Day of Lunar 7 Month, most of us arrived at He Bi Shan Temple in the late noon to prepare for the Summoning of Souls from the various “dimensions” and by 9.00Pm, most of the Souls were being summoned and by 10.00Pm, we went around Yishun Ring Road to summon the Wandering Souls into the Temple for Salvation and making of Offerings (開明燈。接引眾靈到壇前).
By 11.00Pm, we left the Temple to head for a good rest and prepared for the Grand Tasks that being appointed to us on the 14th Day of Lunar 7 Month.
On 14th Day of Lunar 7 Month (農曆巧月十四日), everyone arrived at the Temple very early to do the last preparation for the Day’s Ritual to be conducted.
By 9.00Am, Reporting to the Celestial Palace Ritual was being conducted (開天門。上奏發表到通明).
Followed by Ushering in the High Ranking Deities at 10.00Am (演淨科。恭迎三界聖駕臨).
At 11.00Am, Appointing of the Celestial Task to Vabien, Ruihe & Royce was being conducted. In Folks Term, we addressed this Ceremony as Promotion.
By 12.00Noon, we had our short break and at around 12.45Pm, everyone was ready for the First Round of Chanting – Recitation of the Purity & Serenity Scripture of Great Supreme Lord (演經文。清靜妙經啟妙法).
With an hour’s Chanting, the Recitation of the Scripture was done.

On 15 May (a Sunday) and also the Best Day for Spiritual Events on this Season, He Bi Shan Temple had chosen this Day for the Crossing of Fire & Receiving of Celestial Imperial Edicts for the Old & New Mediums and also, the Operation of the Temple.
After 40 Years of not having this Ceremony being conducted, with the Encouragement of Old Spiritual Master Lim, He Bi Shan Temple decided to do it this Year and with this, the Temple had entered into another New Era of their Temple’s History.
At 9.00Am, He Bi Shan Temple arrived at Telok Blangah Tian Gong Temple (新加坡天公廟) to conduct the Requesting of Celestial Armies from Jade Emperor of Heaven (玉皇大天尊) & Heavenly Lord Pu Hua (雷聲普化天尊).
By 11.00Am, the Requesting of Celestial Armies was completed and Jave proceed to Jia Fu Jing (新加坡嘉福境) to assist them to settle the Dotted Deities onto the Main Altar.
At 2.30Pm, Jave arrived at He Bi Shan Temple after assisting Jia Fu Jing on the dotting of the Statues.
Upon arrival, Jave started to conduct the Cleansing Ritual (淨壇) & Settling of Spiritual Territory (結界) before the Ushering in of the Celestial Reporting Officers from the Three Realms.
After then, the Ushering in of the Celestial Reporting Officers from the Three Realms (恭迎三界) and Sending of Spiritual Petition to Celestial Palace (上奏昊天) was conducted. During the Ushering in of the Celestial Deities, the few new Mediums started to get in-trance with their Respective Deities and soon after the Celestial Deities were being usher-in, the Deities de-trance to allow the Mediums to pay their Respects to the Guest Celestial Deities.
At 4.00Pm, the Paying Respect to San Guan Da Di (三官大帝) was conducted while the Spiritual Armies of He Bi Shan Temple were being honoured & rewarded with Food & Paper Offerings (犒賞三軍).
Soon after the Respect to San Guan Da Di was completed, the Sending off of the Celestial Reporting Officers was being conducted.
At 5.30Pm, the Cleansing of the Temple (淨廟封壇) was done before the Crossing Ceremony started.
At 6.00Pm, Old Master Lim started to do Cleansing for the Fire Territory and with the assistance of Taoist Bro Chee Seng & Soon Seng, the Fire was being started.
At 7.30Pm, after the necessary Cleansing done by Old Master Lim, Jave was there to assist in the Eliminating of the Negative Entities (押煞) and with the completion of that, the Crossing of Fire started.
Firstly, the Crossing of Fire was led by Old Master Lim and Jave, followed by the Mediums, then the Assistants of Mediums and last, the Future-to-be Spiritual Teachers.
After Jave had crossed the Fire, Jave went to change for the Ritual of the Sending of Spiritual Petitions to the Various Celestial Palaces to grant the Permission to promote the Mediums and Receiving of the Celestial Edicts.
With the assistance of Old Master Lim, All the Old & New Mediums got their Spiritual Promotion and then, with the Reporting, the Temple was granted once again with the Celestial Edicts from San Qing (三清道祖) & Yu Huang Da Tian Zun (玉皇大天尊).
Before the Mediums got Detrance, Master Lim assist them to make Vows in front of the Three Major Celestial Palaces & Six Sub-Palaces (三宮六府).
For those who wished to know which are the 9 Palaces, here there are:
1) Yu Qing Gong (玉清宮)
2) Shang Qing Gong (上清宮)
3) Tai Qing Gong (太清宮)
4) Jin Que Tong Ming Gong (金闕通明宮)
5) Jiu Tian Ying Yuan Fu (九天應元府)
6) Dong Ji Qing Hua Gong (東極青華宮)
7) Tan En San Yuan Gong (覃恩三元宮)
8) San Jie Lie Sheng Gong (三界列聖宮)
9) Kun Jie Zhong Sheng Gong (坤界眾聖宮)
With then, the Crossing of Fire & Receiving of the Three Celestial Edicts was done.
For those who dont know about the Three Celestial Edicts, here they are:
1) Dao Edict (道旨)
2) Imperial Edict (御旨)
3) Authorization Edict (鈞旨)
These Three Edicts were being issued out from San Qing (三清道祖 - 道旨), Jade Emperor of Heaven (玉皇大天尊 - 御旨) & San Guan Da Di (三官大帝 - 鈞旨). Without these Three Edicts, it wouldnt consist as Complete and a Temple or Medium could not start to perform their Task in assisting the needy.
At 9.00Pm, the Sending Off of Guest Deities was conducted and then, all of us head back for a good rest after 72 hours of preparation for this Spiritual Event.

On 14 May (a Saturday), just before Jave arrived at He Bi Shan Temple to conduct the Invitation of Water Ritual, Old Master Lim & his son – Taoist Bro Soon Seng, were there to assist in the Enhancing & Dotting of the Spiritual Items that needed for the Crossing of Fire & Receiving of the Celestial Imperial Edict Ceremony.
During the Enhancing & Dotting Ceremony, the various New Flags dedicated to the different Deities were being Dotted and the Celestial Edict Tablet was also being Enhanced, after then, the new Arm-chair (金龍寶座) dedicating to Lord Guan Yu (關聖帝君) was being enhanced and dotted too.
Upon completing of the Enhancement, Taoist Bro Boon Kim was there to assist Soon Seng in conducting the Cleansing for the Mediums’ New Robes.

Hi folks,
It was an exciting day, and after our gathering at Balestier Road checking out one place (that Gilles have been checking at the gate for 15 years without a chance to go in and we made it, thanks to Charlotte and of course, the group and the timing, the stars must have been in alignment. I will let Raymond tell the story) amongst many, Raymond and I (with Doris) sped to Yishun to look at the fire-walking in He Bi Shan Gong.
My impression was that it was for the devotees. Ah, I should have read more closely. It was for the newly initiated mediums (tangki). We missed the walking. And from what I gathered from the guys there and from the facebook, they had a series of activities since afternoon today. Well, we will wait for the official photographer of the temple to share the pictures through Bro Jave.
This was the first time for me to visit this temple (talking about Singapore being small) and it was the three-in-one temple with the Blue Cross temple here as well. The other was the Chong Pang Tua Pek Kong Temple. The He Bi Shan Gong (Bro Jave, how to read this in Hokkien? I suppose this is a kampong Hokkien temple before) was like what one might imagine to be a kampong temple. Very interesting indeed. Maybe, one day, we can ask Bro Jave to do a talk and tour for us here.
Bro Jave would know the total process of the initiation of the new spirit mediums, under the guidance of the old master of the temple. When I was there, they had already begun getting the mediums to seek the approval of the Di Guan (what is the relationship with the Ohr Leng in this little shrine here?) and each would throw the divining blocks to see what is their “contract”? I think most got 3-year contracts. I missed the earlier mediums. If I am not wrong, a young man and two old men? I only caught the lady mediums, one of whom was Guan Gong (I am interested to know if she felt the strength of Guan Gong after detrancing), then, Guan Yin and the last one Shan Zai Tong Zi.
Therein here lies an interesting story of how these new mediums were “caught” and the process of becoming one. (^^)

After 2 weeks of preparation, on 14 May (a Saturday), He Bi Shan Temple had finally entered into the Pre-stage of the Crossing of Fire & Receiving of Celestial Imperial Edict Ceremony.
In the noon, after getting the necessary items for the Crossing of Fire Ceremony, Taoist Bro Chee Seng & Sis-in-law Cherie had went to Hwee San Temple – located at Yishun Industrial Park A, to invite back the Natural Underground Water.
At about 4.00Pm, after doing the necessary Preparation at Telok Blangah Tee Kong Temple (新加坡天公廟), Jave arrived at He Bi Shan Temple to get ready for the Invitation of Spiritual Water from the Three Realms Ceremony.
Upon arrival, Old Master Lim was assisting the Members in getting the Flags & New Spiritual Seals to be enhanced.
Upon enhancing the Flags & Spiritual Seals, the new Arm-chair (金龍寶座) dedicating to Lord Guan Yu (關聖帝君) was being enhanced and dotted too.
At about 5.30Pm, after Ushering in the Earth Deity (此間土地) & City Deity (當境城隍) of Yishun Ring Road Sector, the Invitation of Water Ceremony (請水科儀) began by doing a Report and Ushering in the various Deities of Water Realm (水界諸神).
With completion, the various Talismans & Water Pails were being enhanced and after Taoist Bro Soon Seng & Kok Hwa completed hanging the New Scrolls of San Qing (三清道祖), the Cleansing of the whole Temple was being carried-out before Ushering in the various Official & Recording Officers from the Three Main Taoist Celestial Palaces & Six Major Administration Sub-Palaces (三宮六府).
On the Main Day of the Receiving of the Celestial Imperial Edict, upon completion of the getting of the Edict and according to the Traditional Practise of Taoist Mediumship Culture, Old Master Lim would lead the 3 Old Mediums & approx of 4 New Mediums to go thru the Ceremony of Paying Respect to the Nine Palaces in the Celestial Realm, in Taoism, we addressed this as Xun San Gong Liu Fu Jin Tian Cao (巡三宮六府進天曹).
With the ending of the Ushering in of the Nine Palaces, the Day’s Ceremonies ended and with 3 respects to the Deities, we called it a Day and stay back for a short rest before heading home to have our Rest and prepare for the Major Event – Crossing of Fire, to come.
For those who are interested in witnessing this Ceremony, He Bi Shan Temple aka Ho Peck San Temple (新加坡何碧山宮) is located at Yishun Ring Road opposite Block 111.
